I just recieved a pedal from a music store that was dubbed broke in hopes of fixing it. PLEASE HELP.

Lol. I thought I could fix this thing. Its a Bass distortion digitech pedal its the burgandy colored one. Now I plug in my power supply and the Red led automatically comes on, I think to myself yes free pedal. Wrong It doesent turn of and It also doesent send out any distortion. So what could possibaly be the problem.

.Led stays on
. No distortion

Er...Open it up and look for dry joints/broken joints etc.

Then, get a multimeter, and go part by part testing output around components to see where the fault is.



*Edit: Also, I'll hasten to add, you knew the pedal was broken, yet you've got no idea of the basics for at least checking it and fault finding? What possessed you apart from maybe grabbing a bargin?*

Sometimes you never know.

I bought an old EH Dr. Q from a shop very cheaply, on the basis that it didn't work properly. I got it home, changed the battery and voila! Working pedal. :)
