Good evening, all...
Here is my own, personal, view of the compositions presented in the monthly BC Composition Challenge, in randomly chosen order. I hope that at least some will be inspired to give the works a listen, and perhaps vote for their favourite. All the pieces can be heard here...

Gently caressed harp arpeggios introduce a synthetic female voice, asking us if we can see (see what..? :-§) and are we comfortably seated. A short pause and we're off. The voice is telling a story, backed by a walking bass, a discrete drummer and the harp playing an up-and-down scale. The tale is punctuated by a rising flute; after another pause for breath, the story continues, with a change in the harp backing. The voice continues the narration, with some indication of its robotic origins. Yet another, slightly longer, break, and the ending of the parable is revealed. The fantasy ended, the harp arpeggios return, while the narrator underlines the moral of the story, and thanks us. Arpeggio and out...
We are to imagine a seated audience before a small, tall tent, in which a marionettist is giving a representation of her art. We are incited to follow the 'adventures' of a pair of rabbits, who display some strangely 'human' behaviour in chatting to each other and philosophising over the choice of carrots by their leaf size. A moral tale, from which, I'm sure, we could all learn something about our own behaviour. Now, where's my joss sticks and head-band..?
