Cable & Cans

What is the best cable to go for when hooking up your bass to an amp? I need about 3 metres to use with an Ashdown practice amp.

Also, I was going to get a set of headphones for practice, the idea of some cordless ones appeals and I have been looking at the Sennheiser RS130.

What do you think? should I get these or do you think I could get much better quality wired ones for similar money either way suggestions of some good cans welcome

Thanks

I think most people on here would recommend Bassic Cables (made by our very own OBBM). They're handmade to your specifications and are extremely reliable.

As for headphones - I've been using AKG K-55s to practice with now for over a year and they've been consistently great. The low frequencies don't lose any oomph which is a definite necessity for most bassists I'd imagine!

Hope this helps,

Danny

I've got two pairs of those RS130 headphones for recording with.

They are fine IF you are prepared to fiddle around with the transmitter to find the best location, depending how far you intend to move from the base obviously. Plenty enough bass for me.

+1. Dave (OBBM) got a great write up in the current issue of Bass Guitar Magazine too. I've already got 2 speaker and 2 instrument cables from him and can say from experience they're well made from top quality components and very fairly priced. The speaker cables in particular were a definite step up sound-wise from the shop bought ones I'd been using. Buy with confidence :)
