For sale or for trade is my Warwick Corvette Double Buck 5 string. I bought this secondhand from Nevada music down in Portsmouth.

This has been my main bass (my only bass really) for the last 2 years. I have recently recorded an album with it, and have played it at numerous gigs. It is in great condition with very faintest of hints of buckle rash on the back (tried to capture in one of the photos) and a small ding near the input jack, again tried to capture in photo. The main issue is that the volume knob has fallen off. I still have the knob, just very little technical know how as to how to get it back on there. I am sure it would take someone else very little time to sort this. The volume know is also a push/pull knob to switch between active and passive modes.
5 strings. Beautiful finish. Sounds immense.

Why am I selling/trading? I want a 4 string bass ideally, I bought this bass as it was there an sounds amazing but with my playing and ability I really don;t require the extra string right now. I would also just like to change things up a bit and try something else. As I don't have spare money to buy an additional bass, I need to sell/trade this one.

What would I consider? Well, I am open to suggestions. An Ibanez SR 1200/1600 - something light with a narrow neck or similar perhaps, or maybe an MM Stingray, Spector, Peavey Cirrus...I am female so as such would something slightly less cumbersome than my Warwick :) (which I think is near on everything - heh heh).

money may need to change hands either way for a trade depending on what it is. I think I would like to stay with an active bass as I play a wide range of music styles and want an instrument that can manage that.

I don't know, throw it out there....my mind is wide open right now :D

I would prefer collection, I live in Richmond Surrey, work in London Bridge - so any areas around or between is good. Alternatively my family live down in Hampshire, and I visit from time to time so all the way down to Portsmouth could work too.....

Any questions please let me know, I am afraid I am not all that technical, or have huge bass knowledge but I will do my very best to answer. Or if you want more photos just let me know.

I forgot to mention that I have the original Warwick folder that came with the bass along with the truss rod adjustment tool. The bass also has locking strap nuts on it (as seen in pictures). And I have also included a photo of the serial number for anyone who is interested.

Updated trades:

Anything with 4 strings and active pickups, although may consider passive:
Musicman Sterling
Musicman Stingray
Spector Euro or Rebop
Peavey Cirrus (US)
Ibanez SR1200, 1600, or something from Prestige range
Warwick - any 4 string considered
ESP/LTD (higher end)
Yamaha TRB4ii
Overwater

There are a lot of options I will consider there!!!!!

Nice basses these, picked one up myself a month or so back.

Very nice woody growl, very lively... string spacing is quite tight if you like that sort of thing. maybe a little too tight for me but that's just personal preference.

Considering these retail at a little under £3K now this is pretty good value.

Thanks Rob. I had no idea these were priced that much brand new (although worth every penny). Perhaps I am underselling it!! :)

I do love it so much and in typical fashion am now considering whether I should sell/trade it. Its got an amazing low action, and it sounds 'fat' and yes, growly. I would love to have a 4 string version. But only if it was a bit lighter. This bass is too heavy for me. I think 2 or 3 years is enough for my poor shoulder.

I always do that with my basses... the grass is always greener and all that....

Biggest compliment I can pay these basses is that the bass tutor from my old collage (many moons ago...) who was the single greatest player I have personally ever seen, now seems to be playing one live... and he used to have a Wal that started my own obsession with that particular brand... If it's good enough for him it's more than good enough for me.

Anyway I digress... Good luck with the sale.

Oh cool, yeh good chance it is then as I got it from Nevada down there secondhand. It is an awesome bass and it is just a tad too heavy for me, and one too many strings. If I could trade it for the exact same bass in a 4 string then I would in a flash....
