I have thought long an hard about this......

Up for trade (preferred, but willing to sell) is my excellent Fender USA AVRI '62 Jazz Bass in 2 tone Sunburst from 2012 with all the case candy you get when you buy an AVRI. Not the standard USA model in any way shape or form. The '62 AVRI's have now been replaced by the 64 AVRI so are no longer available new.

I traded this when still mint on BC for a 5 string Spector and I have used it extensively over the last year. It is an extremely well built AVRI and although the nitro finish is now starting to show wear (few dings and scrapes visible) as is normal for Fenders that are gigged the bass is in good condition.

Upgraded several bits: Hipshot X-Tender fitted, Gotoh 201 hi-mass bridge added, Custom Wizard 64's with raised pole pieces added for better string to string balance (original bridge and tuner also included, original Fender pups no longer available - the Wizard are far superior anyway).

With the upgrades this bass is just awesome, it sounds the part (I actually prefer the passive tone over my Lull and De Gier Custom 5 JBs), extremely even sounding string to string, fast neck, amazing almost P like sound from the front pickup (especially when palm muting) and a great old school finger style tone from the back.

I get no end of positive comments on my tone through my full tube amps and 212's with this thing.

So why would I trade? Well, because it is not a 5 string and as I am trying the less basses is better approach and a 4 string does not work for all activities I am involved in.

I have my Lull and de Gier JB5's for the classic tones I am after and so am looking to trade my AVRI '62 for a modern sounding 5. No preference really, although I am probably looking for active (with passive option if possible) EQ, 1 or 2 humbuckers, not too chunky neck, 19mm string spacing if possible, no less than 17.5. 34" scale preferred, B must be tight though.

Think MM's, Warwicks, Spector Euros, 55-02's

I would rather upgrade (price wise) than downgrade so not too interested in lower range Ibanez's or such (not bad, just not what I am after).

Would prefer to trade but would sell. Value (1000-1050 value) is firm, you know what a new AVRI '62 would cost if still available.
