Clarky Posted August 19, 2013 Share Posted August 19, 2013 (edited) I bought these for my Ampeg Baby Bass but after a day decided I preferred the higher-tension Jargar strings that were originally on it Spirocore 3/4 Solo strings are very low tension when tuned to orchestral (EADG), lower even than Spiro Weich (see chart below) while retaining the characteristic growly sound and longevity Barring the most tiny amount of fuzzing on the always-fragile silks of Spirocores these are as-new. I would be happy to split if someone on BC wants to take the D/G, otherwise I'm afraid I would rather sell the full set. So anyone after a low tension Spiro D/G? Clarky Posted September 5, 2013 Author Share Posted September 5, 2013 (edited) These strings are the most highly recommended on TalkBass for Baby Bass electric upright basses. So I would guess they work well for most EUBs. Very low tension but with the trademark Spirocore growl. I just preferred the Jargar soft strings that were already on the bass which I have used for a couple of years gigging on and off (I sold the bass in between times then bought it back!)
