Truss rod not broken right?!

In a perfect world this would be true. But in reality most basses have their limits. Yes, 40/45/50 should be well within those limits, but even that may not always be the case.

But, +1000 to your previous post: if removing the cover helps you adjust the trussrod, then you should remove the cover! :)

Because Im so used to adjusting my other bass from the top end, this was a totally new ball game it seems! Even with the plastic seat off it doesnt buy you that much room certainly no where near the same room you have on a headstock end adjuster.

i had to do two turns so it equated to a 1/4 turn. I think its safe to say the truss rod is fine after all but it did need a fair bit of welly and a push down on the neck to persuade it to move. When it did move it was fairly smooth so Im happy that I havent forced it against its will or anything!
