Source Audio bass envelope filter settings

I have just bought a Source Audio Bass Envelope Filter (not the Pro version). I am enjoying experimenting and have found some settings I like. However I am new to envelope filters and don't really understand what I am doing yet. So I was wondering if anyone has any recommended settings or favourite settings I could try out. I should say I am not trying to imitate any famous artist, I just want some suggestions I can have a go with.

Have you checked out their demo videos with the various suggested settings?

Yes I have now checked out the SA website, but not much there to help me. However, I am diligently working through the settings to see what it can do, which is great fun and I've got some wierd and wonderful sounds out of it. Any advice on where to put the BEF in the signal chain, is it better before or after distortion/overdrive?
