Hi there,

With a heavy heart, I'm finally committing to sell my 1979 Gibson Ripper bass.

Its been with me a couple of years since I imported it from Colorado, USA. It's recently been serviced and had a fret dress, so it's playing beautifully and sounding perfect. I've had to change the volume pot as that wasn't working when I got it. I've also sourced some new machine bolts to replace the ones that were missing when I first got it and there has been some wires changed, but its very much original apart from that. Its about as authentic a Ripper sound as you're likely to find IMO.

It has had a neck crack near the headstock and was repaired before I bought it. It's not the most cosmetically sound repair, but its solid as a rock and hasn't suffered any intonation or set up issues because of this. There is also a small amount of re-spraying that has happened on the top of the neck near where the break was. I'll try to get some photos of that up so you can see, but it's fairly difficult to illustrate on a black bass!

It comes with the original 70's black tolex Gibson case.

I'm going to be putting it in Andy Baxter's show room in Shoreditch this afternoon, so you're welcome to get in touch with him here http://www.andybaxterbass.com to have a look at it, or feel free to email me with any questions or offers.

I'm open to offers, so do get in touch and I will consider trades or deals with a Rickenbacker if anyone has one they'd like to move on.

Thanks for looking,

Jimmy Sims
