Have seen a few 55-01's on the forum modded with with Big Splits, or were they Big Singles ? dave_bass5 Posted May 31, 2013 Share Posted May 31, 2013 I never really liked them in my old 55-01 either. I changed the preamp but i still didnt really love the tone. I think the pups are the only let down on these bases. For what its worth i change the pups in my Lakland DJ5 to Nordstrands and didnt really like those either.
