Does anyone have recommendations for anything about the 100 quid mark ? You can get a reasonable bag for around £30 and I would invest in a properly sized second hand [url="http://www.gollihurmusic.com/product/1468-UPRIGHT_BASS_TRANSPORT_WHEEL_STANDARD_SOLID_RUBBER.html"]end pin wheel[/url] or even better a [url="http://www.kcstrings.com/shop/scripts/WebSrv.dll?APPNAME=ISV&PRGNAME=CVC&ARGUMENTS=-N204"]bass buggy[/url] - always best to have the bass in contact with the ground (have never really found backstraps that useful ...but a good way to have the bass 'break your fall' if you trip !!). From experience the padding is much of a muchness ( unless you double your budget! ), but one thing I would look out for is a gig bag that has loads of hand straps in different locations ( top, middle, bottom, front and back ) - just makes it easier to handle the instrument and pull it in and out of the back of a car, take up and down stairs, etc . It really is good for the money, plenty of padding (the number of ominous "thuds" I've heard when hefting my bass around only to check it over at the other end and all is fine) and I've had it probably a year so far with no problems. I've bought a few things from them, and have managed to get through on the phone and via email. Worth trying again I reckon. Hope they get some in stock again soon. Be warned, the back straps are worse than useless as the top of the bass ends up so far above your head that it catches on tree branches, road signs etc! [/quote] Agreed, I've taken the back straps off 'cos the bottom of the bass kept hitting my calf muscles when walking, and the top of the bass was so high I had to walk bent over to avoid anything overhead! I assume that's the same with back straps on any case though? I use a bass buggy now, one of my best buys for lugging it around and saving myself from back ache!
