Got the Orange Terror Bass and SP212 back then, and now a new Fender P on the way, as well as this new Zoom. Will post thoughts when it gets here. Exciting times. [/quote] I don't use the B3's effects much, either. Unless you count compression as an effect. I'm still discovering the endless tones that can be got just from using a compressor, a SansAmp sim and a Markbass sim... using the B3 as a preamp. The presets are fairly crap, like they are on most boxes. I bought it as I was looking for a compressor a pedal and a subtle room reverb for bass, and realised that the Zoom was cheaper than two decent pedals. I have a few songs in sets requiring and octaver, and one with spring reverb/tremolo, and the Zoom seems to have that covered as well... so I sold my tuner, octaver, Boss FDR1 and a few other pedals, bought the B3 and I'm a good few quid up! As much as I'm loving the Fliptop model, I didn't buy for the amp emulations, it's just that I haven't got round to plugging into my gigging set up yet (Orange OTB and SP212). I don't think I'll need the models for live work as I like the Orange. For direct recording though, it's looking to be ace! Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

ratman Posted February 10, 2013 Share Posted February 10, 2013 I just got a B3. It's done a few gigs and I love it. I spent years putting together a lovely pedal board with some tasty overdrives, filters, compressor etc. All true bypass, and totally avoiding anything digital. This thing has blown me away. Now I'm pulling some of my pedals off the board and the B3 is in. And on gigs where stage space is really limited the B3 is all I take. A cracking piece of kit, and so cheap too.
