alstocko Posted December 31, 2012 Share Posted December 31, 2012 Hey guys, as I'm not the biggest gear head when it comes to these things, I thought I'd pitch this to you. My Lakland JO5 has been buzzing more than usual recently. About 50% of the time that I turn my amp on a loud hum comes up, and then goes away as long as I have contact with the strings, control plate etc. I know that they're single coil jazz pickups in there, but surely they shouldn't make this much noise should they? What's weird ing me out is that it only happens 50% of the time. The other times its just normal. Earthing problem perhaps? gjones Posted December 31, 2012 Share Posted December 31, 2012 Dimmer switches and other electrical equipment in a room can cause buzzing when you have single coil pickups.
