Gary1964
Hi I have a Tanglewood rebel 4k and i am thinking of changing the pick ups to improve the sound, I was wandering if any one can come up with, or advise me of any good pick ups, your advice will be of great value
Panamonte
Depends entirely on what you think is lacking in the current sound and what sort of sound you'd like from your replacement pickups.
Gary1964
The current sound seems to be lacking in punch and i would like to get a blue/jazz sound
Panamonte
It's worth having a search using the box at the top of the page - you'll find plenty of threads which may give you some options to consider. You'll find that Wizard pickups get a lot of recommendations - they're good quality and good value - a Thumper in the P position and an 84 at the bridge would certainly give you plenty of punch. But don't forget that changing the kind of strings you use and adjusting the height of your current pickups can also have a significant effect on your sound and costs less than buying new pickups. Finally it's worth asking yourself whether the money is best spent upgrading your current bass or being put towards another bass with better specs - plenty of bargains to be picked up on the For Sale forum/classifieds here. Gary1964
Hi, yes 4strings it certainly does and more, only one issue and that is it comes with D'Addario Round wound strings and i like playing with flat wounds so i purchased some D'Addario ECB81 Flat wound and after restringing and tuning i noticed that the action height is higher now than with the round wounds on, any idea's?
