untune
Hi all I've been looking around for a decent re-amping box and a couple of obscure posts on forums pointed me to this site http://www.orchid-electronics.co.uk/index.htm Nice range of DI boxes and other useful bits of electronics for signal conversions etc - I read these have a bit of a following in folk music circles but I'd never heard of them before. Made in the UK, their stuff is apparently great quality and seems pretty affordable compared to some. Has anybody used them? I'm thinking for fifty quid I'd be hard pushed to find a better price on a reamping box and the DI boxes are attractively priced, might make good backup units. Opinions? BassBod
I've used his DI boxes (standard and muting version) for EUB/Double Bass for years - they are fantastic, and affordable. Always been very impressed when recording with them too...but I will admit I often use a Raven Labs box, but only because I've got one. I'd recommend contacting John and explaining what you want, as he is very good at adapting things to meet your needs...and doesn't charge silly money for custom work. Highly recommended.
