It woks perfectly fine, I personally have it set up for Logic but you can set it up on most other recording software. Instead of me typing forever about it I have found a review sound on sound made. It also comes wit the USB cable. It can be powered via this or a 9V power supply (not included) it will also take batteries. You will need to download a program called auto map for this unit, it can be downloaded for free on the novation website. Here are the pictures of my particular unit.
