Software drum machines

Folks,

This I posted in answer to a question in another forum, I thought it worth repeating
as it never hurts to get something for free......

Here's a link to a site where there are some free software drum programs.
(I personally prefer HotStepper and HammerHead)(H.S. has the edge)

Great for jamming with as they are easy to program, or for quick ideas to your
4 track.... None of 'em will replace a good drum machine (Or drummer) but
here you go.....

check them out, let me know what you think......

(keep it low, keep it loud)

Paul Cooke - Hydrogen is meant to be the business on Linux, I have heard nothing but good things about it.[/quote]

I know Hydrogen is the business on Linux, it's also available now for windows and OSX...

there's a file I did earlier with some shuffle patterns in it and a song arrangement strung together with some of them...

but it's nice to know Hammerhead runs on Linux if anyone ever sends you a .HH file or you find some ready made .HH files on the web...

Going off topic a little here but can I ask what Linux distro you are running?

Ubuntu Dapper 6.06 on the main machine, Ubuntu Gutsy 7.10 on the laptop with the Ubuntu Studio packages installed

Both will be going to 8.04 when it's available and safe to install.
