I was just wondering if anybody knows what tuning he plays in to go with the monster 8 string guitars he plays with?

I was also wondering if anyones heard the jazz album he released?

I'm not 100% but I think he tuned up a bit - his E string went up to F# for example. This may even have been his bottom string. I have no idea where I got this information from so take with a pinch of salt. This is the guy from Meshuggah isn't it? :)

Lovgren uses 5 string Warwick basses. it's the Meshuggah guitarists who use 8 strings.....

From the wiki about 8 string guitars:
Fredrik Thordendal and Marten Hagstrom of Meshuggah tune their 8-string guitars F+Bb+Eb-Ab-Db-Gb-Bb-Eb, and occasionally drop it to Eb+Bb+Eb-Ab-Db-Gb-Bb-Eb, and even five semitones below this tuning, for the song Spasm
I'd imagine he'd copy the low 5 strings of the guitars tuning, but I'm not certain of that.

Ah, ok! Sorry - the way it read was a little ambiguous to me...
