I dont know if this is a stupid question but I was just browsing on evilbay and noticed that there are Musicman Sterling basses and cheaper ones that are titled Sterling by Musicman basses. Are these different basses? I am assuming that the Sterling by Musicman basses are not actually made by Musicman.

Can anybody clear this up for me

Cheers

Colin

Ok here we go, Ernie Ball make the Stingray which has a sort of P bass neck and the Sterling which is very similar but with a Jazz bass (narrower) neck. Both are full USA EBMM models and cost around £1299-1500 ish new.

The sterling by musicman are budget versions of the EB's, SB14 is like an EB Sterling, SB34 like a Ray4 and SB35 like a Ray5. still confused? So are we...

The Amp is the business mate ta! LOUD too :)

I'm not a massive sterling fan tbh as I find them a bit little as I'm a fairly big/tall guy and I love Ray neck profiles anyway. Price wise they are similar to Rays starting at about £650 I think? A Sabre is worth a look if you fancy something similar but different, the guy in pulp used one to good effect. All EB stuff seams to sound good with Genz gear and I see lots of GB and EB together in peoples gear lists on here.
Dont you fancy a normal Ray?
