You could try them with a mag pickup but I doubt there's enough metal in there for it to work properly. Might be an expensive experiment if it doesn't work out. Beer of the Bass Posted March 15, 2011 Share Posted March 15, 2011 Thomastik Dominants worked fine with a Kent Armstrong mag pickup for me, and those have a synthetic core with steel windings, so it's probably hard to predict without trying them.
