  1. I was using these to get a B15 sound for my no amp bass gigs. It worked really well but I moved onto a Helix Stomp and EBS valve drive for increased tonal/effect options. All prices include postage

    Chase Audio Secret Preamp
    £125
In good condition, (small chip on the bottom edge) with original box, instructions, and business card. EP based preamp, the EQ switch adds so much

  2. Second gig for me with the backbeat g2 tonight. I’ve been asked experimenting with my setup somewhat. Tonight I’ve sent my bass into my pedal board, and from the through on my DI into the BB. I’ve sent my stereo IEM mix (minus bass) into the BB also and set it up so the bass drum gives me a thump in the back.

I’ve plugged my IEMs directly into the BB and I can set the volume of the bass and IEM mix separately. The headphone preamp is fairly noisy but it all disappears into the full band mix!

So tonight I have my bass sound as I want it  with no EQ/Comp added from the desk( room adjustments can often leave me with a less than desirable sound), rumble from both the bass and the bass drum and a fully stereo and EQed/Comped band mix too! I’ll see how it goes. Soundcheck was very promising 🤞🏻

  3. This is an amazing pedal but I'm more of a set and forget kind of guy and don't feel I'm getting the best out of it. The saturation works really well for bass, even more so if you can run it in parallel. I used the double tracker mainly for chorus but have had some fun with slapback and flange sounds also. Its been scratch on one side (see pics) and has been gigged and used in recording sessions etc so not showroom condition.

Some blurb I stole from Andertons:

The Strymon Deco is not so much your typical effects pedal, but rather a tape simulation machine in a box, adding lush tape saturation and a "widening" effect to your sound. The Deco’s tape saturation smooths out your sound with tape-style compression, while the doubletracker feature thickens up your tone with subtle tape-driven transparent overdrive.

Will post in the UK or you are welcome to collect from Newcastle

both alder bodies, both Nordstrand pickups (NP4A and Power Blade respectively).

    Both nitro, 9.5” radius.

Is the one on the left inspired by the Sean Hurley signature bass? I love the idea of a built in on/off foam mute

Apparently the compressor is based on the Diamond pedal, so if it sounds as good as that you're on to a winner.

On the Diamond comp, the EQ knob controls a tilt eq (they don't specify the tilt frequency point), so you tilt the overall tonal balance more to the bass frequencies or more to the treble side, 12 o'clock being neutral.

The compressor you have is the same as their 'pressure tank' pedal and they describe the eq knob on that as a tone control. From what you're describing it does sound like it's acting as a tilt eq.

The Diamond Bass comp has a Tilt Point of either 900 or 250hz

I had that very thought myself. I’ve not followed through on it yet although I have made a mock up on one of my favourite design-a-bass websites

That looks like an awesome beast!  I’d be tempted to see what cream strat knobs look like on it - the pu covers and bridge give. Different vibe to a P visually.

Ooh that compound radius spec sounds like it’d be wonderful 🥰

Yes it’s really nice, quite similar to recent ‘Elite’ fender range but with more vintage feel towards the nut.  It took me about 2 years to find the right combination of strings, relief, and string height to balance the setup at both ends of the neck though!

The whole vibe is a nice of mix of 50s chunkiness, 60s width, and modern ‘soloing’ radius. I love it
