1. Hello I was hoping if anyone could shed some light on this:

I have recently bought an Epifani 2x12 UL cab off ebay, went to pick it up, met the guy and tried out the amp at loud volume (12 o'clock with my Markbass LMII) and was perfectly happy.

Now when I play it at home at 9 o'clock (1/4 of the volume) there is a buzz, which I have isolated to one of the 12" drivers. More specifically I think it may be the dustcap of the driver. Initially though I thought it may have been because there was a small area of the glue which holds the dustcap to the driver so I got that fixed at my local guitar shop but the buzz is still there.

Under 1/4 volume the buzz is not present, over 1/2 volume the sound of the buzz is drowned out so in other words the buzz doesnt increase in loudness along with the overall volume. When i gently apply pressure to the dustcap in question the buzz stops for about 20 seconds before gradually returning.

I am stumped! taking it back the the repair shop tomorrow but I was just wondering if anyone here had any suggestions to what it might be.

If its serious I'm gonna have to dispute it with the original seller and ebay :) which is a massive pity as the tone is immense!

    Cheers.

  2. Hi all, selling my Warwick CCL 4 combo as I have just upgraded to a louder Markbass LMII and Epifani Cab. I have owned this combo for about 6-7 years and have never had any problems what so ever. It has been a pleasure to play live and record with.

Its a 250w (300w max apparently) stand alone 4 ohm combo with a 15" speaker and tweeter (selectable on/off).

Its one of the original made in Germany models I believe as it states WARWICK AMPLIFICATION GERMANY on the back unlike all the new models which have WARWICK AMPLIFICATION CHINA.

It has some scratches in the paint on the grill and a fair few scratches on the back handle. No rips or marks on the carpet covering however and everything is fully functional.

All the new Made in China models are going for around £700 online except on GAK where they have made a mistake and priced the 1x15 250w combo the same as the 1x12 150w combo so if you wanted you could take advantage of that lol - *EDIT* now been amended on GAK and are £666.

£220 for this top quality combo which has been well looked after in my possession. Anyone seriously interested in buying is more than welcome to come and try it.

    Thanks.

  3. Bought Dave's Markbass Little Mark II,

Great all around transaction! Swift communication, posted as soon as I paid. Item arrived day after, packaged really well and as exactly as described all working 100% Couldn't be happier.

    Many many thanks!

    Matt.

  4. Hey Tom1946 its cool, was just abit grouchy in the weekend, spent from friday to monday working wasnt much of an Easter holiday :) I assume the bass is not as lightweight as you require?

Bass is still available and I have PM'd Adee.

    Cheers.

  5. Quite similar definitely but obviously will not match the unmistakable tone that is the stingray! I personally love the sound of the single coil mode, reminds me of 70s funk, psychedelia and prog.

  6. FOR SALE: AN IBANEZ ATK300 4-STRING BASS

Used but in great condition, owned from new, bought 1 year ago.

Bought for £350 new as the shop I bought it from gave me a discount on the original price of £400 as the finish at the top of the neck, left of the nut (see picture) was not finished properly resulting in a slight grey patch (barely noticable) and a very minor laquer scratch next to the jack socket (1cm long just on the surface of the laquer)

Bought as a backup bass, hardly any wear except on the scratchplate under G string where I have been popping. Selling as I have just bought a new high end bass and now saving for a new amplifier.

Lovely tone and great to play for this price range!

Full Specifications are found here: http://www.ibanez.co.jp/products/eb_page10...p;series_id=326

Please refer to harmony central for reviews: http://reviews.harmony-central.com/reviews...nez/ATK300/10/1

Total Cost if collecting: £220, and I'll throw in a used Warwick Rockbass soft case.

Total Cost if posting: £240, sending through Parcel Force in its original card board box, with much bubble wrapping, padding the inside and outside of the box.

If your are collecting the bass, I'll only accept cash for payment. Otherwise payment by cheque, bank transfer or Paypal.

Also would consider trading for a Yamaha BB415 in Wine Red in decent condition.

    Many Thanks!

  7. I have seen old pictures of old Wal Basses and they have what appears to be coil switches on the actual pickups. Like this one:

They are located under the humbucker within the pickup surrounds. On the new site, the new models dont appear to feature this. Hopefully im wrong!

    :)
Meh I quite like it! would like to hear how it sounds too

  9. Howdy thanks! would of been great if I could of kept them all but it is an expensive hobby finding beautiful low end tone! Im ultimately going to end up with just my Yamaha BB1200 and BB414 as im mad about the PJ tone and the many varients that come with it, especially with the dual sound wiring in my BB1200. Maybe some day I'll buy a Musicman Sterling and maybe much much much later on in my bass playing career own a Wal Bass like this:

As I think the bass tone in "Blood, Sugar, Sex, Magic" is the best Ive ever heard.

  10. Hi everybody! Glad to finally join this merry band of pluckers, slapper, poppers and thumpers! I was first made aware of this forum's existence by the very helpful chaps at Bass Merchants Colchester. Only used it for reference up until now as Ive seen a very tasty combo I hope to claim as mine under the for sale section.

Well lets see Ive been playing for 12 years in rock, funk and covers bands and even a metal band along the way. My favorite bass players are Flea, Les Claypool, Jack Bruce, Larry Graham, Tom Jenkinson (aka Squarepusher) and Billy Cox.

He are a few pictures of my current tools of the trade:

My newest addition is this fantastic 30 year old Yamaha bb1200 I have recently modded with Dimarzio PJ set with Master Volume, Master Tone and pickup selector switch. The Volume and Tone are Push/Push pots for series/parallel switching and what a difference this makes!!! its like 2 basses in one, capable of a very broad tonal range. Couldn't be happier!

As you can see It is unfinished. Im currently designing a unique scratchplate and need pot knobs!

My Work horse for the past 5-6 years is this formidable Warwick Corvette with pretty much the same pickups and passive electronics as my new yammy.

Unfortunately my collection is kinda like "one in, one out" so the Warwick is being sold off soon! this forum will be the first to know when I do.

I also own a Yamaha BB414 which has been my backup bass for 4 years or so. Great Tone for the money! no pictures as yet.

My Ex's, the basses I just didnt get along with in the end or something better came my way:

Ibanez ATK300, Great basses!!! sold recently to make room for the BB1200

Ibanez RDGR400, Big tight tones but abit too metallic sounding for me. The 19mm spacing was a great touch though.

and my dear Streamer LX5 oh how I miss the tone but not the string spacing!!!

If anyone has bothered to scroll down this far I play through a Warwick CCL 4 (made in Germany not china like new models) combo which I'll most likely be selling off soon too If I get that MarkBass CMD 102P for sell in this forum! Well thanks for looking. Any questions about the basses seen here I'll try to answer to the best of my knowledge or memory!
