A possibility would be the Radial Tonebone. I use the Tonebone OD (there was one for sale on here a few weeks ago for a good price). There are two channels, one with ‘drag’ control, so great for piezo, both channels have HPF and mid eq points. The unit is ideal for dual bass duties. I also run an Empress para eq for DB if I’m thumping with a R’n’R band to tame feedback. 

Forum is called British Steelies. I use one (as do lots of PSG players and also guitar techs/ custom builders. They’re pretty much unmatched. Good luck with the sale.

Put this on the UK Pedal Steel forum, it’ll go straight away especially with the leg clamp.

Serious bargain. Great preamp and DI and hub for a FX board.

Tough one!  The latest bass I bought was a Fender Elite 5 which is very nice and versatile.  However, I have a CLF ‘Big Chonks’ exactly the same as Lobster’s (in his review), which is fabulous and plays wonderfully. As others have said here, the G&L is special.

For reference, I also have an American Fender Jazz Plus 5 (the Kubicki one), light, rare and harder to find. A NT Thumb 5 - plays great, slightly heavy headstock, very distinctive sound, but comfy, small body; probably over budget. A Sei Flambouyant 5, which is great in every way, but way over the budget.

A second-hand Elite or possibly and Ultra if you can find one would be a great choice. If you’re new to fives, play a few as they really do differ and rarely play in the same way as their four string equivalents.

Lehle have a bunch of switching solutions. Good gear, but reflected in the price.

The Radial Engineering OD is excellent if you have a couple of basses, or even an electric and Double Bass/Piezo driven bass. The HPF and filters on individual channels also work well. I use it for practice to running an audio input in one channel, bass in the other and the headphone out. Oh, it’s a radial DI too and will drive a power amp.

For reference I have other preamps; Tonehammer, Bassics, Mesa 800+, which all have DI’s but none as flexible as the Radial.

Lehle have a 3 way switching unit that many pros use. Not that cheap, but they do come up used every now and again. I think the ‘1@3’ is the 7nit that will run out to up to 3 amps.

As an update to fellow Chatters, the guy coordinating the FB victims (Steve Ripley), informed me that a few more people have been in touch with him and that another has filed a report with the Fraud portal for Cheshire Police.

If you have been ripped-off, please file reports adding as much detail as you can.

I hope folks are reporting all the details to the Police. It does look similar, but like a dog licking’ his balls, they’re doing it ‘cos they can.

Luckily  i was only caught for a delay pedal, but some folks have had it much worse.  I will no longer use FB and only pick-up. Here on BC, there is a respect for each other that builds trust in the trading, but it comes to something when even eBay looks more secure!
