1. Cheers, I'll try that as a first option. I must admit that I did try this configuration with a Hartke 2515 and Line 6 Pod and it just overloaded like crazy Maybe that's because it's more of an instrument 'lower level' effect as opposed to a loop effect? Damn, playing bass for 28 years and I know jack sh...
2. Won't there be a problem with putting it in the FX loop as the Rocktron is also a pre-amp? I assume the head pre-amps the signal first, no? And what about the DI feed (from panel), would that then have the effects on it?
3. So... I've this: And this: And will be getting this very soon: My question, maybe a stupid one, I know, is the best way to put it together, particularly the Blue Thunder and LH500. For instance does one plug the pass into the effects then into the front-panel, or into the effects then into the FX return, or into the head then put the effects through the FX loop Etc. Cheers!
4. I ordered an Hartke LH500 - I figured for €345 I really couldn't go far wrong...

6. Bugger, I just ordered a new one this lunch-time, WTF didn't I look here first? Seems to be loads of amp for the money, the dude in the shop was adamant that it perfoms as well as other brands that are three times the price.
7.
We have a QSC RMX2450 power amp for sale, haven't been able to get access to it yet as it's locked away in storage but will be able to get it out to test and photograph next week Should be more than you'll ever need, there's tons of power in these! Looking for £370
That's quite a powerful beast... So what's so special about these QSC's then?
8. OK, after some pig-rooting around I'm pretty sure it's a Sabre 900 (or 1200)
9. OK, I have one of these (with the frets still on), super think neck and body, active electrics with a lot of tone control. Easy to play, but lacks a bit of sustain and perhaps depth on account of it's light weight etc. Great bass if you've little hands (like me)
10. OK, so all these fancy Trace, Hartke, GK etc bass amps are all about a good bass preamp with a high quality PA Gotcha!
11.
If you are after a power amp only, get one made for PA, QSC or Crown are good names. Because there is more demand for bit power amps in that field, you get more for your money due to economies of scale etc. There are a few in for sale section I think.
I'll take a look, cheers Excuse my ignorance, but wouldn't a dedicated bass amp be more suitable, or is it only the preamp that's specific to the bass?
12. I used to have one about 20 years ago - super bass, really think neck, very fast to play, very versatile. Wish I had €1100 spare...
13. Hi folks I'm wondering if anyone here know what model of Ibanez bass I've got. I bought it second-hand from The Bass Place in Birmingham, UK, back in 1998. I has active electrics and a very think neck, very easy to play. Attached is a photo of me in the studio with it - don't mind that I look like a moron though Dave
14. Hi folks I've just bought a Hartke HCV-810 (8x10) cab and a Rocktron Blue Thunder, so that will act as pre-amp I'm lookinf for a power-amp and would welcome suggestions. I was thinking about the Hartke LH500... Dave
15. Hello folks I'm an Englishman living in Belgium (don't laugh, the beer is fantastic!). I am gigging bass player and head over here to chew the fat and educate myself a bit. I've been playing bass for, oooooh, 25 years or there abouts, with my main influences being Chris Squire, Geddy Lee, Jonas Reingold etc. So as you can tell I'm a prog-head too, although the band I'm in now is doing modern rock covers. Cheers Dave
