I'm looking around for a new set of strings that are of a heavy gauge i'e the first b is a 135,which is fine but I want a set that doesn't sound bright at all so I keep that dirty low sound of which I havent found yet?anyone know where or what make to look for? Thanks in advance for any info

 5. hello dudes im selling my old cab as i've moved over to warwick now and its not getting used.its a 300 watt 4x10 without horn,i bought it on this site last year off a dude called mike(good bloke) even though its showing a bit of age on the outside the drivers are still extremely tight and punchy.i've tryed to show the bits where the tolex is worn around the back but if you do want any more pictures its not a problem.its a strong unit and it weighs around 45 kilo price £200 or near offer i drive a transit and work in london so delivery can be arranged if needed curtis
 6.
What are the Health and Safety reasons? is it the material or where you use it
hello mate yes its the dust that can cause cancer. so if you ever use it make sure you use a good mask and you have to seal it as its give off gases but once sealed its fine. but they say you get cancer from any thing.i only suggested it as i thought for a practice amp it would be fine as you wouldnt be lugging around in and out of giggs.but by the sound of it its be a full on little cabinat!!!! good luck mate
 7.
Just wondering, is 12mm ply thick/ridgid enough to build a square cab with an internal volume of about 1.3 cu.ft without any bracing? ...or will I have to use 18mm? Just trying to keep the weight down as much as possible for a small 10" practise cab that I'm about to start building.
hello mate its always 18mm although i dont use it anymore in my trade for health and safety reasons mdf is good for making boxes.but which ever material you use make sure you glue every joint until it seeps out and once you've built it go round all the internal joins with more glue and wipe your finger over it to get it right in there (a bit messy but its washes off) and then your have a really tight and strong box.i'm a carpenter and i make stuff like this all the time so i dont think your need a brace to be honest.not sure if your handy with a router if so you can run round all the external corners and the sub hole with one to finish it off and give it that neat rounded look through the material
 8.
If it still smells once it's dried out, stand the cab on its back and sprinkle a good layer of bicarbonate of soda onto the cone. Leave it there overnight (or longer if you can) then suck it up with a vacuum cleaner. Should take the smell with it. If the cab's carpeted, try Febreze, but don't get any on the cones. A
thanks for that i'll give it'll go as its still there not as strong as before.on a brighter note while i was in speaker mode yesterday i stripped out my little practice amp that kicks around the front room and ive built it into the bottom of my tv/bookcase/wood store unit i built out of mdf with teak worktop i built a while ago to keep the misses happy so now it houses the modified combi tucked away behind its own door
 9.
.22 Air rifle...... or Screwdriver.... your choice
my misses is a lover not a fighter but i've said to her if i did ever catch it someone out there would be minus their pet (or bits of it)by the time i'd be finished with it. i've just gently baby wiped the the dust cover over and over again i figured that it cant make it any worse and it smell alot better.now i'll leave it and check on it tomorrow
 10. hello ok here's my problem ive got a trace 1048 with 75w celestions in it,now this might sound wierd but please keep reading.we have a cat and have been having problems with a tom cat even though i've changed the cat flap to an infa red one.he came in last night and sprayed up my cab !!!!! and i can see it on the dust cover of the speaker and it smells bad.im letting it dry out but i dont want to use if its going to be pushing smells out??im pretty sure there's nothing i can clean it with as i'll damage the cone around it.what can i do?i have looked around for a new speaker but if i change one i'll all and its not the cheapest.if i was to replace all four is there any recomendations out there any help is much appreciated curtis

 19. hello mate im a carpenter and i've built loads of stuff like this before,if you've got common sense your be fine dude once you've worked out your air space building it is easy.couple of things regarding construction.regardless of material make sure you glue every loint (with a good cold wood glue)so when you screw it together you see it squeeze out counter sink all screws.also sharp edges will break out over a short time of use routing them to give them a nice half bull nose shape is easy with a 1/4 inch router as the bit you use has a roller so it guides its self also yoou can run it round your port holes to finish the look.if you havent got this or not feeling that confident ie cutting your fingers off you could also do it with a smooting plane a sharp one !!remember measure twice cut once. any ofther help you need regarding the construction side of things pm me dude always here to help
