1.
wow whats the weight of this beauty ??????
Weight-wise (I have an aversion to scales as they have a tendency to lie about my weight), the Shuker is much lighter than my Sei 4 NT and my Goodfellow Player. It's also about half the weight of a Thumb 4 NT! I'd be guessing but it must be around the 8lb mark.

2. Just a tentative feeler at the moment but I need to consider selling my very recent purchase of this piece of Shuker loveliness. The bass hasn't left the house since it arrived and has only been played a couple of times.

The spec is:

Shuker 4 string horn bass
33"scale
24tret maple and wenge laminated neck rosewood f/board
two way trussrod carbon fibre reinforced neck
2mm white side dots simulated mother of pearl block markers
buckeye burr headstock veneer
gotoh gb7O7 tuners
satin neck lacquer medium fretwire
swamp ash body buckeye burr drop top
polyester basecoat satin top coat
individual bridge units Delano JCAL& MCAL pickups
Seymour Duncan 3 band e q
Graphite black hardware
nutwidth- 41mm 12th fret width-56mm – depth of neck at 1st fret 20.1mm depth of neck at 12th fret- 21.8mm 16"radius

As you can see it's a beautiful piece of craftmanship. I'm only looking for the price I paid, which is £925. This includes the case, which was bought new with the bass.

If circumstances change I might be interested in a trade...

certainly is!!! my 1990 NT 5 string is the dogs - if I had the readies , I'd be nestling this baby between my 1990 fiver and my1988 4 string. gorgeous!
Thanks, MikeBass. It really is a beaut! The body wood is one of the most unusual I've seen on a Thumb. The pattern changes depending on the light and from which position the bass is in! A really tactile bass - I'm almost convincing myself not to part with it, hmmm?

5. Here's my Warwick Thumb NT 4 that is happily snuggled in its Warwick gig bag out of the cold! It hasn't been gigged for a while and I'm wondering whether it might find a new home - not 100% certain I want to let it go but it just isn't getting used. Here's the spec from Warwick:

Bass: Thumb NT
4 string Bass
Serial Number: E-2301-90
Year: 1990
Month: May
Number: 2301
Neck Wood: 4 pcs. Wenge Wood with Bubinga Stripes
Fingerboard: Wenge Wood
Frets: Bronze Warwick Frets
Nut: Just a Nut I Brass Version (originally)
Neck construction: NeckThrough Construction
Body: 2 pcs. Bubinga solid wood/
Surface: Oil Finish
Pickups: JJ MEC Pickups Active
Electronic: MEC 2-Band electronics
Hardware: Warwick Black Hardware

The bass it's been thoroughly set-up, new strings etc and lovingly waxed (the bass guys, the bass...). The main pic is by the original store owner and the second body pic is the bass now after a few loving touches ;o)
These basses cost £2500 new, but this beauty is from the period when Warwick used slightly lighter woods (and better quality too). It's all original, sounds fantastic but you knew that already ;o)

A very reluctant sale but needs must (no, I haven't got GAS, just bills to pay :)((

Price-wise I'm looking for £1095

The pic above is the actual pic of the bass as used by the shop I bought the NS WAV from. A review of the Wav can be found here: http://www.harmonycentral.com/products/46917

Hope that helps.
