1.
Hi can you tell me a bit more about the truss rod? is the neck straight? if the truss rod isnt messed around with is the bass ok? Im new to bass but play guitar let me know Ben
Hi Ben, The neck isnt straight which is the main downer on the bass. This raises action by a bit and means its not as nice to play as a straight necked bass. The pickups in it are lovely and sounds terrific when plugged into a good system. The body is brilliant too and no neck dive when playing. Im going into cardiff on the weekend so will get it fixed if thats ok with people? Cheers, Chris
 2. I bought this amp about a month ago thinking id play with it all the time but ive only really had one little go with it for about half an hour on a very low volume. I still have the warranty registration forms that are not filled in, so can be filled in by the new buyer. to show how new it is, the sticker is still on the front of the amp. I havent got the box, but everything else that came with it is there. Would prefer a pick up from Caldicot, South Wales as i dont have a box to post it in, but will post if needed. Im looking for £65 for it, plus postage if im posting. Thanks for looking!
 3.
I,m surprised this is still here! Especially at that price! I wonder if the cross threading of the nut on the truss-rod is putting people off?
I would think so yes mate, thats why the price is so low too. Just to add i can take it to repair at an extra cost (just what the shop charge). Plus id prefer to say that somethings wrong rather than have someone complain once theyve bought it.
 4.
I would buy, if I had an extra £100
Ah fair enough, no worries. She is a beaut
 5.
I'll bump this as the bass was bought from me, i owned it from new and never touched the truss rod or noticed any issues with the neck.
Cheers mate, much appreciated
 6.
You can upload them to photobucket and then take the IMG Code to paste on the thread or the other way to do it is to attach the image to the post by finding the image and clicking upload on the manage attachments section. Hope this kinda helps...
Yeah done it. Thanks mate!
 7. I know im bumping too much, but bump anyway! N.B i dont have pictures on the page cos i dont know how to do it
 8.
--------------------------------------------------------- The cross threading could be a major problem if you have stripped the threads on the truss rod --How did it get damaged?
To be honest i havent a clue. When i bought it the neck was bent. When i tried to tighten the rod it wouldnt budge so this tends to suggest that the threads are still intact and not worn.
 9. Im deciding to sell my bass as my band has split up and wont be playing on it much anymore. Its a natural jazz bass with a couple of modifications, the standard issue pickups being taken out for some active EMG's and the squier logo being replaced by a fender one. The bass is in fantastic condition apart from cross threading of the nut on the truss-rod, but this is easily sorted out. Sounds great and feels lovely but as i say the neck needs a bit of sorting out. This is why im asking for £150 rather than any higher. Would preferably like someone to pick up as it would be alot to post but if postage is required then will do this at extra cost. I live in Caldicot, South Wales, just over the otherside of the severn bridge. Thanks! 10. Ive decided to sell my amp and cab after my band split, and it takes up quite a bit of space in my room. I'm looking for £180 for the MAG 400. I'm not overly sure on how to insert pictures on here, so if interested, PM me you email, and ill send you some pictoral evidence Ashdown MAG 400 In great condition, sounds great and easy to use, only small problem is that the bass eq level knob has bent slightly so its slightly harder to turn it all the way, but it will still go. No problem with the fans or lights, all of that in great condition. No dents or scratches on any of the surfaces. This amp was discontinued a while ago so kinda rare (ish) now Thanks for having a look, feel free to message at any time Based in Caldicot, South Wales. Cheers, Chris
 11.
Send me a PM or list in the for sale section when you've decided matey
Ok mate, will do
 12.
Nope, they are one of those Crack Convertor type places that pawn Jewellery etc! However, they have one bloke that works there (and has done for years) who is a keen muso, so knows enough to only buy in the things that are worthwhile and will sell...doesn't stop them having a few hideous guitars around the place, mind! MAG 400 is long discontinued, the red face UK built ones being replaced with the MAG300 and MAG600 both largely made in China, although some UK built stock does surface from time to time. Get some pics up, but depending on price I would be interested as I have a soft spot (not necessarily shared here, oddly) for the MAG tone. Cheers, James
Ok mate will do. Keep a watch on your mail, ill send you a few pictures if i can do that on here. It all depends on the band splitting which im pretty sure it will, but it could be about a week. Is that cool? Chris
 13.
Well, it would always depend on decent pics being available, but if it helps I saw a MAG 400 (which I nearly bought) on sale in Wants in Exeter for £150 yesterday with a 3 month warranty so that should give you a ballpark figure for what you'd be likely to get for it?
Ah right, was that one new then?
 14.
Some further detail is always going to help I guess, head or combo? If combo, what speaker config? Will you post? Any issues? Any pics? Define 'quite good' condition. I know sometimes I can go overboard on detail when selling, but more information should lead people into a more informed decision over whether to buy or not! Cheers, James
It would probably be just the head cos I have a REALLY old LE series amp thats so heavy, and yeah ill post on here when i sell it. Only one small issue, the bass level knob has bent slightly so its a little harder to turn it past 80%, but not impossible at all. Thats pretty much all the issues that cause it to be in quite good condition. There are cobwebs inside the cab, but it doesnt alter the sound at all. No pics atm, but will send you some if you want. Chris
