FOR SALE: Sonorus Skeletone Tapper (£599)

Doing a major clear out at the moment, and next up on the block is my wonderfully bonkers Sonorus Skeletone. This is a #touchstyle / #twohanded #tapping instrument in the style of a #ChapmanStick or #WarrGuitar. No longer made, these were handbuilt here in the UK based on the #TapLadder design, and the build quality, materials and fit and finish are all absolutely top tier.

This particular instrument has a 28” scale (a perfect compromise for the treble and bass sides), individual rail pickups with independent volume and tone controls and outputs, stainless steel rod “frets” with brass fret markers, Grover tuners and hardwood headstock and body base. There are strap buttons on either side making it easy to position in the typical more vertical position.

I experimented a fair bit with tunings and found it most intuitive for myself to tune both sides EADGBE, albeit with the bass side an octave lower like a Bass VI. I practiced daily for a few months during the pandemic, which helped my previously weak two-handed tapping technique tremendously… but realistically I think it’s probably time someone else got to have a go.

Comparable instruments like the Chapman Stick tend to sell secondhand for well into the four figure mark, so this is a great opportunity for someone wanting to dip their toe in at a bargain price. The condition is immaculate, with no sinks, scratches or dents.

I got this a number of years ago and I think it’s time to accept that my dream of being in The Eagles, Led Zeppelin or Bon Jovi is probably best laid to rest. This AcePro double-neck Strat features 6- and 12-string maple necks, black body and white pickguard, plus cream pickup covers and knobs.

I originally got this years ago with the intention of upgrading all the pickups and electronics, applying new decals and finish to the necks etc... but I never got around to it and realistically i think it’s time someone else got to enjoy this fun beast.

Anyway, this was picked up this evening and therefore is now SOLD.

I got this a number of years ago as a stage acoustic for loud band situations where feedback and cutting through might be difficult... but I now have Godins and this is definitely surplus to requirements. This is the Epiphone version of the Chet Atkins signature model that Gibson once made.

Chambered, piezo pickup, active preamp. Fretboard goes up to 24 frets on the top strings, and the cutaway makes it easy to get up there. Gold-plated Grover tuners, gloss black finish, Schaller straplock buttons. Good condition, the usual playing and polish marks, but plays beautifully, is very comfortable with the slim body, and is extremely feedback resistant.

£200 collected or may be able to deliver or meet up somewhere along the SE London / Croydon / Guildford (Surrey) area. Would prefer not to post, but if you want to arrange courier then we can discuss.

My favourite IEMs (I have tried many), so much so that I bought a second pair when they came up for sale. Highly recommended. 

The 6-string set is 2x3 cut? Is that 3 a side?

As above, it was me, done by Feline Guitars with Nova hardware. Turned out great. It’s the bass I leave around the house.

Been a while since I bumped this, but thought I would again. Not desperate to sell, but it probably deserves to have a new home. 

Might be an idea to title the thread “Fender case candy” to help prospective buyers. 

I owned this bass for a while, having desired an 6-string Jazz for years, and it is a monster for the money. If only my small hands were able to get on with 35” scale, I would still have it. Killer bass.

Someone actually put a deposit down last week but I forgot to update the thread, so this is now ON HOLD. Will update once it’s gone or if it doesn’t.

A bargain for a Roscoe - if it wasn’t 35” I would be trying to work out how to raise the funds. 

Some of the finest basses in existence, I finally got mine a couple years ago after coveting one since I was a teenager admiring the work of session legend Abraham Laboriel who had one as his main bass for quite time time.
