1. Great Thread, love reading the stories behind peoples basses.

Warwick Corvette Active 1995 -
Liked this, the band thought the top horn looked like a D**do so after being the brunt of D*ck jokes for about a year I decided to sell this and buy a...

Still chuckling at that!!

My list is fairly humble, been lucky not to have too many dogs.

Westfield P/J - We all have to start somewhere, worlds highest action. Crackliest jack socket ever.
2004 MIM Fender P Bass (sunburst) - Loved this bass, the reason I always come back to precisions.
2006 Musicman Stingray 3eq (Black) - The constant, saved up for 2 years to buy it new. Feels like home.
1994 MIJ Fender Jazz Bass (sunburst) - Was never 100% on it, sounded amazing but never felt right.
2010 MIM Fender 50s P Bass (fiesta red) - The colour.......wow. Would love a roadworn one to fill the void she left.
2011 Custom Grabber (wood, lots of it) - I have phases with this bass, in my old band it was a mainstay, so much growl. Not using it much these days at all. Thinking of changing the pickups and going for a more "ripper" sound. Periodically decide I want to get in finished in a colour, never do.
2004 MIA Fender Jazz (sunburst) - Only recently sold this, miss the sound a lot! Special memories as it came on some big tours and played at some big venues with my current band.
2013 AVRI 1963 Precision Bass - Amazing bass; looks, sounds and feels like a 60's bass. Everything about it is great. Put flats on it, even better. Anyone who says Precisions aren't versatile or are "one trick ponies" I urge you to try one of these. I won it in the rotosound competition so even sweeter that it was free.

If I may be so bold.

My own tone on this track. It's very gritty but not over the top. Gibson Grabber to VT Bass Deluxe.

Can't beat a grabber - Thrice and Cave in both have amazing bass sounds.

Mine is a bit neglected these days.....this was a while ago https://soundcloud.com/wedigforfire/throw-out-the-cards-live-corp

Custom Grabber into Line 6 DM4 into SVT3.

3. Morning Basserists,

Just wondered if anyone has any experience with the unsigned guide?

http://www.theunsignedguide.com

Toying with the idea of signing up, getting exposure is a total nightmare these days and the testimonials and reviews on there look good.

4. After reading many a thread of flats vs rounds I decided I would stick some (chromes) on my 63 RI P and see what all the commotion is about.

Completely blown away, the tightness of the low end and overall smoothness has me converted. Can still get plenty of bite with a pick. I'll try to get some clips up at some point.

Was wondering if anyone has experience of flats on a Stingray?

5. NOW SOLD THANKS

For sale is my EBS classic line 410. Had it for a year or so, bought from this very forum.

Been absolutely brilliant but I have finally got around to getting the RS cabs for with my TC head.

Its rated 500w at 4ohms, Adjustable tweeter. It has some castors on the bottom, not sure if they are original, but they work well. Its not particularly heavy for a 410 either.

Its definitely seen some use, a few dings here and there (tolex has some small tears), but most importantly it still sounds the business.

The cab is located at our rehearsal space in Derby and people are welcome to come and have a go.

After £150 and no trades please.

Olly
