BTW, keeping the Arias? :)
Aria...s, surely you mean Aria...............my wife thinks I only have one !

    Yep, love 'em !

  2.
well I dont know if it'll be your cup of tea but I have a Yamaha TRB5ii or a 5 Mex Fender Jazz and I can throw in an MXR Blowtorch (pretty mean fuzz pedal) hopefully that'll be your weakness :)
Hi Sorry, not my bag !

Don't think I could get another bass past the Mrs, but I would try and slip in an EBS amp head, if anyone had one !

  3.
some good pics here that might help http://ariabasses.blogspot.com/2010/04/ari...dissection.html
Thanks for that, I had a look, might be biting off more than I can chew here !

Still, you gotta try, haven't you ?

    Thanks Again.

  4.
lovely looking bass, would you be up for trading?
Hi,

Looks even better in the flesh, I'm not very digi-camera enclined. The finish, btw, is satin, and the neck has that lovely, smooth, non-sticky ( sorry to be soooo technical ) finish you now get on high end basses.

I'm actually trying really hard to cull my collection, as so many of my basses just don't get played ! However, I do have a weakness, so you could ask.

  5.
I'll ask my guitar tech he replaced my SB pick up with a new one by Kent Armstrong in the end. But he might know.
Hi ,
Thanks for that, how ( similar ) did the kent armstrong pickup sound to the original ?

  6. Hi,

Does anyone know the resistance, or have any data, on the 1980 sb1000 pickup ? Mine has gone open circuit, and I'm going to try to machine out the magnets and coil, in order to reuse the case, if I can. I should be able to save a bit of the coil wire to measure, and hopefully, the magnets. Bit of a long shot, but as far as I can see, nothing to lose ! Any help would be greatly apreciated.

    Thanks Mike.

  7. Next to go is my Fender, made in Japan, 5 stringer. I imported this directly from Japan , about 4 years ago, have gigged it only twice, so it's in nearly as new condition. Serial no is H0033X, so I believe it was built late 80's. Was unplayed, when I bought it . This is not the , normal , traditional Fender bass, much more modern sounding. Has 22 frets, active eq, fender USA hot rod pickups, rosewood (or similar ) fingerboard, cast bridge, brass nut, lightweight tuners, was made for the Japanese home market, so has narrower string spacing than the USA 5 string, and also, is very light. Fabulous looking bass, plays great, just had it set up by mr B, but I want to use my Giffin 5 string , so ..............Only £595 collected from west Sussex.

Now, I won't use carriers, but I do travel with my work, from time to time, so I am willing to help with delivery, where possible, for the cost of the diesel

  8. Continuing my Bass cull, I'm selling my Ampeg 8 x 6 bass cab, Great if you're doing pub sized gigs, and don't want to lug your huge Ampeg 8 x 10 in there ! Cab is 4 ohms, and can be used with, or without it's tweeter. It's on wheels, and has a top handle, so, although not light, is easy to move around, and goes through doorways easily . It's also an ideal cab if you double on guitar, great guitar sound. Cab is in lightly used condition, couple of small marks, and is £245 collected west Sussex
Now, I won't use carriers, so cab is for collection, however, I do sometimes travel with my work, and am willing to help with delivery for the cost of the diesel where I can.

  9.
After buying this about a month or so ago off another member ive realised i prefer the tone altering BDDI more.

I want to do a trade but willing to sell after a week or so if i dont get any trade offers. I paid £120 and i want to get the same back, although i will include Uk mainland postage in this price.
Hi Dave,

I have a Sansamp Bass driver, virtually as new, in box, if you'd like to trade. How do I make sure it's a mk 2 ?

    Best Wishes Mike

  10.
Item condition: New ???
Strangely enough, I think this guy is genuine, if a little naive to ebay. I met him when I bought the " Bass amp " ( that was the full description. ) he advertised. When I got to his house, I found it was new, in a fitted case, together with manual, receipt dated 1986. Been in the loft since purchase. Lovely amp, I've been looking for this model for 2 years, nearly missed it due to very simple description and dull photo.

My guess is ( just possibly ) this is quite a special Bass, maybe someone who knows their Shukers could contact the guy, and extract more info, just in case ! He offered to show it to me, when I visited him, wish I had , now.

  11.
Hi Scott,

Yes, bass still available, thanks for asking,

    Best Wishes
    Mike.
Thanks for all the interest, still for sale.
Just a note to say that I am not willing to post this bass, why let someone destroy, in 5 minutes, what has been carefully looked after for nearly 20 years.
However, I do travel around with my work, and am willing, within reason, to deliver, or meet purchaser.

  12.
I am interested in this bass if it is still up for sale.

    Unfortunately, finances are tight.

Would you be interested in a trade?

I have a Lightwave Fretless that I could offer you. Very nice bass and very unique. Light beam pick ups!!! Imported from USA. All natural wood finish, Maple and Ash, black hardware.

Let me know if this is of interest.

    Cheers,

    Dave.
Hi Dave,

Sorry, not looking for another bass, trying to cull my collection, but if you had an EBS amp................

Anyway, my fretless playing is still at bedroom stage !

    Best Wishes Mike.

  13.
Just to update y'all, we've had a sudden flurry of orders so this is on the backburner until they're sorted!
In which case , if its not too late, could I add my name to the list. I,m in Chichester, so could collect, .................. and hate carriers, so would deliver in person to the next nearby trierouterist !

    Thanks Mike.

  14. Hi Dave,

I've just ordered some black tolex from Solasound, as the sample looks very similar to that used on my 70's Acoustic cabs. Will let you know, when it arrives. I will use it on my Acousticlone 361 anyway !

Good luck with the restoration, what speaker is inside ?

    Mike.

  15.
Hi, nice bass but the rules stipulate that you must post a price with your ad
    good luck with the sale
Your wish is my command........................Although the price was clearly stated in the header, did you not read that ?

  16. Hi,
Continuing the "Cull " of my Bass gear, I'm letting my Made in Japan Fender Jazz Bass go. I think it's about late 90's
serial number T 007***, but check it out, it's easy (for me ) to get confused with Fender dating. Condition is great, fitted with lightly used Elite Flatwounds. Photo shows J-retro pre, but that is NOT included, and original control plate have been carefully replaced. Nice rosewood board, and white pearloid pickguard. Just £395 for this not unatractive beaut.
