I had a Peavey TNT 150. Bombproof. Got kicked around from 1988-2010. It rattled about in transit vans, on trailers, was manhandled by countless careless musicians and always sounded sweet. And loud. Teamed with my Ibanez 850 Roadstar, my 80's/90's rig was lovely. I really should have stopped there...

Me too , big fan of the tnt 150 , still got it in me shed along with a kb 300 ,both still work , great sound. had a trace elliot gp11 15 combo which kept blowing speakers !! Always preferred the sound of the peavey though.

I'm assuming that the top will have a finish on it of some sort - probably polyurethane, in which case wood glue isn't going to be your friend. PVA/Aliphatic and derivatives need open pores and pressure to do the job. You could superglue it or use epoxy but that's utterly permanent and will destroy the finish if it pings off of you want to remove it. Personally I'd use a good double sided tape. A 3M or Tesa film backed tape that has pressure sensitive adhesive. It'll stick like sh*t and it should allow you to carefully remove the rest at a later date and clean the tape off with a bit of white spirit (won't affect a fully cured polyurethane or polyester finish)

OMG what can i say, it is an absolute delight to play and easily has the most even tone all over the fretboard than any bass I have played, I love it,
Its in amazing condition for a 79 too, it is now the bass that I would save in the fire lol.
got my first gig with it on Friday , can't wait.
