The bit that worries me is that even if I turn the input level up as far as it will go, the VU will only read about 1/4 of the guage!
True, I'm not all that bothered when playing with a full band, but it really is noticeable when we stop playing at practise, even with a tuner pedal depressed to kill the signal, the hum is quite loud!
Obviously having the input only running to about 1/4 of the VU guage, this is affecting the overall output too - I'm only running this through one 4x10 cab, but even so, I don't want to be in the situation with any of the gigs I play (functions mainly) where I'd have to DI or mic up.
I just can't understand why it won't let me drive it hard enough - which makes me think there may be a problem at the input end of the amp.
Has anybody else had this kind of problem with a solid state amp?
