  1. Hi all. I'm not exactly a 'just-joined' as I've been lurking the classifieds for some time in an effort to find those bargains.
I live near Teesside and am playing a Highway One Jazz at the moment. I love it to bits and it is my first bass so I'm working my way around it, playing bits of Pumpkins, Zep, Cream, a few jazz licks and blues progressions -- endless blue progressions in fact!
My amp is decent enough for home use, a Line 6 LD15 but I feel that when I do start playing with others I'll need a bit more.
That's my next goal: to start jamming in an informal setting; i don't have a load of self confidence so it'll be tough. My next big purchase is likely to be a decent used amp, then after that a Fiesta red Precision :)
I am currently debating whether to go for a flatwound set up as I feel it'll give me more the sounds that's 'me', if that makes any sense.
So cheers, it seems like a nice bunch here. Do I need a tattoo next?

  2. What sort of bike you after? might be willing to trade:
White Giant Talon (top spec one) in Medium
as new cond. Less than a hundred dry road miles
Excellent cond. Felt dispatch 55cm fixed. Clean and very tidy.
Send pics if you want but i understand they may not be at all what you're after!!!!

  3. Hi. I have a very new (December 2009) Upgrade version of the Highway One in Honey Blonde.
Ungigged, sparingly played and totally unmarked with soft Fender case and tool/cloth.
    It would pass as new.
I'm based in North east England.

    Offers please. Sensible ones though!

    Pics to follow soon.
    Ta

  4. Hiya.
Been lurking here for a few weeks now and today took receipt of a new Highway One today and amp and am ready to take up this new challenge.
My main interests are rock from Pumpkins, Sab, Zep, Cream, Beta Band, Radiohead thro' to the more lo-fi end of the genre. I also wouldn't mind playing some blues lines and having played jazz on sax for a few years, would like to get my fingers into some jazz licks.
If anyone can suggest any advice whatsoever, a place to practice where newcomers are made to feel welcome, or a even a sparring partner who doesn't mind mentoring a newcomer, I'd be eternally appreciative.

    I'm around the Middlesbrough area.

    Cheers all!

  5. Hi. Sorry for the newbie question that's about to follow. I have the chance of getting hold of a new (but 2008) Fender Mexican Jazz in Metallic Blue with RW neck for £399.
    Is this a good deal?
Does the body alter from that year to this year's models and are there any other differences between the models from these years.
    Any advice would be appreciated.
    Ta in advance!
