A lot going on with my amps at the moment. I love my Red Iron amp through the '69er, retro heaven. However I have recently gravitated towards a more clean fundamental sound for my band, and the Glockenklang is great at that. The Glock is currently paired with the '69er, but will soon be paired up with the Super Twin, which arrives on Monday :gas:

Then I 'accidentally' bought another head! The Trace Twin Valve popped up on BC for a very low price, and I knew it would be snapped up in minutes. I was in the middle of typing the usual "I'm not in the market, but bargain, GLWTS" post, when something made me delete that and PM the seller offering full asking price instead

The Trace Twin Valve looks great on the Barefaced, real retro.
Here is my Great British set up - Orange/Barefaced/ACG.

The head is a bit too wide, maybe I need a '69er or a Vintage ;-)
Anyone fancy a trade?

2. Bought Will's Orange AD200B. Good coms, arrived within days and was packed to withstand a hurricane. He even managed to have it delivered the day the missus was out ;-)

Over the last few years I've had Mark Bass Combo, Genz Benz Shuttle 6,SWR Mo' Bass, Trace Elliot V6, TC Electronics BH250 en BH500, but this beats the lot hands down!

Cheers Will.

3. Earlier this week I had an attack of G.A.S.
I couldn't stop myself searching the Amps For Sale section. I ended up buying one, and now I'm feeling much better.
Does Gear Acquisition Syndrome only refer to musical gear, or is it applied to other interests/hobbies? The abbreviation itself sounds quite young, I wonder how old it is.
Anyway, I'm just glad its over.

I'm off to put my old amp up for sale :D

4. I had this one and regret letting it go :( . I loved it but swapping between 4 and 5 strings was messing with my head. Now I only have the 2 five string basses, easier for simple me. This is one of the the best looking basses I've seen, and it sounds great, a real beaut.
This is it on my bathroom scales, no pinpoint accuracy, but a good indication.

5. I don't have any effects pedals but I do use my amps compression and tube drive.so I'll be going post DI this weekend and was wondering who actually prefers which an why?
Obviously a mix of the two is ideal!
Cheers

Phil.

Updated family snapshots for you ACG lovers - obviously any bass-related communication with Mrs ead must be sanctioned by me first

In the matter of the grunge fretless, I acquired an additional p/guard from Mr C and I'm now a bit undecided. What is the view of the BC community, parchment or tort?

I'd go parchment.
In fact I bought a grunge black Jazz style with parchment scratch plate and was wondering if a tort scratch plate would be more pleasing to the eye.
Having seen them side by side I'll stick to the parchment.
That's a gorgeous fretless.
Can't wait to get some pics up. I've noticed that a lot of people use the pics from Alan's site, probably because photographing a bass isn't as easy as you'd think.

7. Yeah, they look cool as hell.
But Id be a right pretender with one in my hands, I havent been around the block playing hundreds of gigs. No, Id feel like a wannabe.
But each to his own, they look great, except that the decals are always pristine.

8. I've got a couple of things for sale and wanted to change the trade/sale value. When using the 'Full Edit' function i can change the value but when I view the edited ad it's back to the original pricing.

Anyone else have this problem or am I overlooking something .

I have managed to place the new valuation in the text of the ad, but it's not the same. The first thing you see is still the higher price.

Hope this is in the right place.
