  1. As far as price/quality ratio goes, this is off the chart. But selling this will leave me with one ACG Jazz, so I can live with that.
i'll wait till the new year and if it hasn't sold I have to pay hard earned cash for the precision I think I need ;-)

  2. @Scott S, I guess my search has just begun and offering a little used bass as a swap is less painful than cash.

I'm leaning towards the Classic Vibe but have the Road worn in mind because they say it plays so well. Struggling to find anywhere that sells the Classic Vibe around here(holland)

  3. Swapped my pop/rock band for Soul/blues outfit and we play a lot of stuff from the Stax lable with plenty of Donald Dunn bass.
My ACG jazz doesn't do a decent P-bass immitation so I've been looking at these precisions:-
    Squier Classic Vibe 60's
    Fender Classic Series
    Fender Road Worn
    Fender Duck Dunn.
Are there any other makes/models that you think I should be considering?
I don't want to be forking out more than a thousand euro's and will probably be looking at secondhand stuff.
    At the moment we are playing this sort of stuff;
Knock on wood - Eddie Floyd
Who's making Love - Johnnie Taylor
Wrap it up - Sam n Dave
Hey pockey away - The Meters
Hard to Handle - Otis Redding
Born under a bad sign - Albert King

Thanks for any eye openers you may have.

    Phil.

  4. Sounds like I have nothing to worry about.
I new that really, honest. It's just one of those things; when you have a new toy that's so lovely you want to make sure you don't break it.
The amp is in excellent condition Purpolaris, I intend to look after it, as you have done.
Thanks for easing my unfounded worries.

    Cheers,

    Phil

  5. Hi,

I think I'm looking for peace of mind really.I have an Orange AD200B, which after a 4hr rehearsal felt quite hot. Not so hot that you can't keep your hand on the grille above the valves, but warm enough to have me type this "I'm a bit unsure"t thread.
I can hear the fan running, it's very quiet or I'm a bit deaf. I'm playing through a Barefaced Compact or Midget. One cab is enough for rehearsals, so it's one 8 ohm load plugged into the correct 8 ohm speaker outputput. Master at 10 O'clock, gain at 2 O'clock and the eq at ; trebble 2 O'clock, bass 10 O'clock, mid 10 O'clock)
How warm do your valve amps run, and how long do you wait before putting them in the flight case?

I love the full sound of this amp, amp gas is cured.
    Cheers,

    Phil.
