  1. Hmmmm, im a bit stuck what to do here. My original choice was going to be a Wizard THumper. Then i considered the Fender Originals, just because of the genuine old school p bass thump. However, this USA set have been offered cheap (circa £30) but im not sure how good the new stuff is? Say in comparison to what the MIM's come loaded with how would the USA's perform?

  2. John sorted me out with a mini pot loom after my cheapo bass turned out to have a tiny cavity. JOhn was very accomodating after seeing pictures of the original pots and bass. Turned the harness round very quickly and looks quality as always

  3. Do these things exists? Do they make covers for 5 strings? Ive fitted one to my squier project fine (lloks amazing on a burst/tort combo) but the bridge on my early 90's Encore seems to be more 'substnatial'. I wouldnt mind fitting one on it but dont fancy replacing the bridge - so do they make larger P bass bridge covers or is it just a standard size?

  4. Decided to take a punt on this. Picked it up this morning after haggling a £60 price tag. The bass was filthy but definitely has potential. The electrics are shot and the frets big brass efforts. I plan to rewire it with some Wizard Thumpers or Trads, fit a tort plate, flats and give it a damn good clean! Really nice player acoustically and the frets seem easy enough to get on with. The logo is wierd, it doesnt seem to be a waterslide decal, more like its almost branded or burnt into the headstock the lacquered over. Will try and do a build diary on it.

Says squier bass with fender decal but the neck lacks the usual squier skunk stripe and i cant see a truss rod hole on the headstock so assume its at the body end, did squier ever do this?

Im after a red squire to 'tart' up with a tort scratch, wizard pups and a KIOgon wiring loom but feel this might be an even cheaper brand than squier?

  6. No. I was planning selling the valves on ebay to raise bassman funds. However, her indoors asked what ill then do with the rest of the amp, told her i didnt know (i.e stick it int spare room). Apparently this is no an option - If i want a bassman the WHOLE of the SC120 goes, otherwise it all stays and no bassman :)
