Here's the conclusion from the review by Bass magazine verbatim "The Caiman T4 has two distinct sides to it's character. The first is that of an instrument built by an artisan luthier. This is obvious when you look at details like the perfectly oiled finish, the exquisitely made ebony pickup covers and the tiny walnut plate that covers the truss rod end. The other aspect of this bass is it's functionality. It's obviously been planned and engineered by someone with fastidious attention to detail, and with a vision from the outset about how they want this bass to function and sound when completed. Perhaps the slightly unorthodox shape (ergonomic as it is) may put a few conservative bass players off, but it shouldn't. It's refreshing to play a bass where form so gracefully follows function - and anyway, for many bass players a unique shape is a definite plus With this level of craftsmanship and near obsessive attention to detail, the Caiman T4 is by any measure a real bargain, and at this price it's hard to find anything to criticise. It would have been a nice touch to have the back battery and control cavity plates made from the same coloured mahogany as the body - but that's really the best I can come up with" I'm talking myself into keeping this bass, it's quality really is first class, if other things sell this will be coming off the market

Dear all Here's my Ibanez GSR 180, used for only one gig. It's unmarked and as new, it could be hung in the shop window as new and no-one would know the difference, so it's a new bass at a cheaper price than anywhere else. In addition, it's been chosen as the best one from a selection of the same model, so win /win How come I'm selling a new bass ? oh dear... I usually make my own way to / from gigs and have my own well established routine which works faultlessly. However..... I had a break from playing for a while, then in March last year I did a few gigs for a band that has their own van. I met the guys in the van to go to the gig and set off, looking forward to playing again. Halfway to the venue I realised I'd left my own bass in the back of my car ! (DOH !) I dropped into Music World in Ipswich on the way to buy a bass to do the gig. There were several basses of this model there, after playing them all I chose this one as being the most resonant with the friendliest neck. It was the best bass in the shop in the price range, all in all it's a nice instrument. We set the bass up in the shop, I paid £199.00 and used it for that one gig, bought it home and put it in the corner. Now it's time to let it go, so grab a new bass at what may well be the cheapest price anywhere. Thomann are selling them for £170.00 + carriage (most others suppliers are more than this), so this one represents something like a £40 - £50 saving, essentially 25% off the price of a new bass. Thanks all

Thanks Krispn, I weighed the amp in it's case which may have made the difference, you're right it's probably nearer to 14kg without the case. I spent ages going through lightweight class D heads looking for the depth and weight of sound I wanted, then came across this one, job done. Now I need to take a break from playing for a while, it makes no sense for me to keep this sitting around unused. Someone is going to enjoy this one, it really does deliver -

Just met Ziggy. I went to show him one of my favourite basses saying .. "have a look at this, it's really unusual you'll never find another one like it". His comment.... I used to own it ! both blown away to say the least. Great guy, we'll have a beer sometime I'm sure. Cheers bud, all the best Tom
