  1. Simon bought my Ibanez EHB1000s today.

It was really nice to meet up with him to hand the bass over and he paid straight into my bank account.

Great comms throughout and a really nice guy to deal with.

Many thanks for buying the bass Simon, hope you enjoy playing it and hope the gigs go well!

    Cheers

Nice bass and a good price. I think the weight is wrong though as 5.9kg is extremely heavy for any bass guitar. Do you mean 5.9lb?

Yes I think may be right - I took that from a web site which stated 13lbs but that may have been shipping weight. I'll weigh it and update this post.

    NOW SOLD - THANKS SIMON!

Due to being made redundant last week and with no money coming in I have had to make the difficult decision to sell some of my basses.

So here I have my Ibanez EHB1000s for sale in Pink Gold Matte Metallic.

It is in excellent condition with no visible marks despite the satin finish and comes with all the original tools including the ramp (I don’t think this has even been taken out of the bag), various wrenches and the strap locks. Also included is the original Ibanez gig bag.

This bass has a lovely roasted maple neck which features luminescent side dots (to be honest these are not very effective), Bartolini pickups and an active pre-amp. It can be played in active or passive mode. It only weighs 5.9 kgs and balances really well on a strap with no neck dive.

I’m offering this at a cheap price for a very quick sale as I really could do with the money.

I’m happy to pack this up for you to arrange your own courier to collect (by prior arrangement)

    from near Kettering in Northamptonshire

I have priced this low to sell so I will not accept offers – new these retail at between £800 and £899

  7. NOW SOLD

Due to being made redundant last week and with no money coming in I have had to make the difficult decision to sell some of my basses.

So here I have my 2009 Gibson SG bass in Worn/Faded Ebony satin finish for sale.

I purchased this from Clarky and it is in excellent condition with virtually no visible marks despite the satin finish and it’s age.

Unlike the later SG basses this balances nicely on a strap with virtually no neck dive (I use a Lekato wide strap). It only weighs around 7.5 pounds so is easier on the back for long gigs.

It comes complete with the original Gibson hardcase - this has definitely seen better days (see the pics) but still does the intended job of protecting the bass

I’m offering this at a cheap price for a very quick sale as I really could do with the money.

I’m happy to pack this up for you to arrange your own courier to collect (by prior arrangement)

I am currently playing my dirt cheap (well - before my mods!) Jim Deacon P bass. I'm really liking the narrow string spacing at the bridge.

The other shorties I have use normal 19mm to 20mm spacing at the bridge so the neck splays from the nut quicker than it would on a long scale.

I quite fancy looking for other shorties with narrower spacing at the nut. I think the Deacon is about 16.5 mm.

Does anyone know if they did a Jazz version? I'd like to have that option if I can find one somewhere.

I've got a Jim Deacon shorty P in Olympic White, it's a nice looking bass with a vintage tinted neck, it plays & sounds really nice too.

There was a J&D Mini Jazz but they seem to be out of stock at the moment.

  10. I've just bought Tom's Retrovibe Telecaster bass. The bass is in great condition & exactly as described. He despatched it really quickly & was a pleasure to deal with all the way through the transaction.

He's so nice he has two feedback topics on here! 😆

Thanks Tom for a really easy trade

My Vox just arrived and it is going straight back.

The action is so high that even with the E string bridge saddle bottomed out the E string is 6mm off the fretboard at the last fret. This is not a set up issue.

I've asked for an exchange as I really like the bass - it's lightweight, it balances very well and it looks cool. But it's unplayable.

Hopefully the replacement will be ok.

Was it a red one by any chance? I've just received a red one and the action is way too high. I've tried tweaking the truss rod and still can't get it as low as I'd like. I'm just wondering if it's the one you returned.

  12. Angus recently bought my Steinberger Sprit XT. He was an absolute pleasure to deal with throughout & is a top guy!

    Cheers Angus!

  13. I've just been to pick up a lovely Precision Bass from Rich. He's a really nice guy to deal with & the bass was exactly as described. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Rich.

Thanks for a nice easy transaction Rich & for a lovely bass

    Cheers mate

    Steve
