1.
I tried that Frantone at Vintage and Rare ages ago, loved it. Pricey though...
It sounds immense, gonna miss it. Sounds incredible in front of a set of valves, like the B15 V&R have...
2.
Hi mate, No interest in an EBS Microbass II in trade for your Multicomp and Octabass have you? I'm after both... Cheers Shep
Not really looking to trade, I have a project Simms-Watts 100 to get thundering again, and need a Barefaced Vintage and Compact. Sorry mate, Hope it gets to a new home soon!
3. Up for sale are a few of my pedals, that are no longer used by me. First on the block is my EBS MultiComp. It is a two band compressor, and sounds very good, very subtle. Pedal is in 9.5/10 in condition, with box and manual. £164 List, £100 Posted, NOW £80 Posted SOLD Sound clip here: http://www.basstasters.com/effects/EBS_MultiComp.html Next, another EBS pedal, this time the OctaBass. Analouge octaver, similar to the OC-2, very warm sounding and great tracking. 9.5/10 in condition, with box and manual. £129 List £80 Posted SOLD Sound clip here: http://www.basstasters.com/effects/EBS_Octabass.html Here we have an relatively uncommon Frantone Lo-Tone Classic Fuzz. Handmade in Brooklyn, New York, with perfect build quality. Bought new at Vintage and Rare in Denmark Street in July 09 for £189. This pedal really is in 10/10 condition, it even has the original price label on the bottom, with box and manual. A warm fuzz with plently of bottom. £189 List, £185 Posted NOW £160 Posted Sound clip here: http://www.basstasters.com/effects/Frantone_Lo-Tone.html Finally, we have my Aphex Bass Xciter. Makes small combos sound much, much bigger. Has DI out on it, with all the switching. 7/10 condition, has a couple of knocks and scratches, no box or manual, but will be well packed prior to shipping. Not looking to trade, unless it is a Barefaced "The Vintage". Many thanks Andy
4. Bump for seller. I had the T-Rex Bass Juice. Pedal is mint! Good seller, very quick, very efficient.
5. Shotgun LPB-1. Open to trades? Oh, and the compressor - Very, very nice. Not subtle, I tried one out in denmark st a couple of years ago for £139... EDIT AGAIN: Sorry, been a long day. Didn't notice you said you were open to trades... PM me for details.
6. It makes the most difference with a smaller rig, I find. It does make the amp sound much bigger. Now mine is unused, as I play a big Marshall.
7. Decent cable and soldered connectors. That will do you fine. I made mine.
8. Marshall VBA 400 for me now... Sounds even better. The Ashdown cabs are going soon...
9. TaySte, you've got a Simms-Watts I see. How do you like it? I've got an old 100 watt that needs work... Interesting to talk to someone else using one for bass.
10.
Aye, tried that. Nice set of Sennheisers, twiddled the knobs... it sounded cobblers. MMDV.
Ha. The tone definatley is in the ears of the beholder. Guess it just works for me. Try one if you can, Eight. you may dig it, or think I'm talking complete sh*te.
11. Interesting to see such a polarised response. I love my amplug. I use a set of Sennhiser 202 headphones with it, and with my P bass '(79, with 9 month old flats) it sounds thick and fat, but I do keep my tone control rolled all the way down, as I generally find it sounds messy with the tone up on a fender, but that's me. I did try a pandora, and didn't like all the other stuff on it. Just wanted the sound of my bass, with no crap on it, within seconds. The secret of the amplug is decent headphones, and setting the gain correctly. YMMV.
12. Vox AmPlug? About £35 to £40. Sounds great too, you'll always wanna use it for practice. I don't use my rigs at home anymore, I just use that little gaget.
13. Oh god, the power tube overdrive with the Marshall and the Vintage would be quite a scary one. The Simms is 100 watt, but valve, and I'd use that for smaller rooms. I'm using an Ashdown ABM 300 watt 1x15 combo for smaller gigs at the moment, but I just crave that valve sound. Nothing else does it for me. The Simms is currently in need of repair, but is apparently silly clean sounding, with loads of headroom... Guess it will be suck and see.
14. My bank was hoping you wouldn't say that... As soon as I've sold a few bits, I'm ordering both! Alex, get ready... A compact and vintage, both with cloth grills...
15. Ok, so I'm new here, but... I'm so very tempted by the Vintage, and maybe a Compact as well. I'm using a Marshall VBA 400. All valve, 400 watt monster, and soon to also be using a really old Simms-Watts 100. I'm planning on having the Vintage and the Marshall as one rig, and the Simms Watts and Compact as another, but being ported cabs, I'm a little bit nervous about the cab getting a little "flabby" from the valves and the sheer amount of bottom end I like. Someone please tell me this isn't a problem? Many thanks, Andy
