1. Not sure where you mean but I did the diploma course here: The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance Was a good course, was challenging as I couldn't read music before the course and only knew certain 'shapes' rather than scales as I was self-taught but I really enjoyed it and it was a good way of meeting people - contacts and fellow musicians as I was totally new to London Their teachers include Svet who is touring with Moby, Terry (the head of bass) who records and tours with Steve Hackett and John who is a well known session player to name but a few - all of whom I found helpful and really friendly. For me it was important to be taught by people who actually go out there and do it - sometimes a teacher would be missing as they were recording or gigging but you always knew that whoever was covering were equally good PS - Hey Alun! Just noticed it was you that posted before me

 3. I've finally ummmed and ahhhhed and decided to go the TC RH450 route if that helps any. Did look at Mark Bass, Phil Jones and Genz Benz but I wanted more 'character' - I'm not what you'd call a clinical player The RH450 also won me over with the 3 presets you can save and recall easily. My plan is to have an overdriven one then the other 2 can be for pick and finger style when I'm with one band or I can save settings for my fretless and 5 stringer when with my other band - job done
 4.
Bonners are.. good. I live in Eastbourne, and wherever I see a price, I know that I can get it cheaper (mostly from gak.co.uk or in store). eg. I got my fender american 2008 standard jazz bass from gak.co.uk for £769 and they're doing them online for £959.00. Now I;m not sure what year that is, but they can't have got £200 better in the last year. I mean, I'd say shop around, and you'll be sure to (usually) find a better price. But for service they're excellent. And yes, why the hell is there a Brighton Uni campus here?!
Thanks for that buddy. I checked GAK and load of others but Bonners is the cheapest with the added bonus that they'd do finance. As it turns out my 5 nomadic years down here in London has made my credit rating a bit pants - chances are one of the flats I lived in had a bad credit attached to it and so I'm being spanked for it and can't get finance So - tomorrow I slap down 500 notes and then pay the balance when the rig touches down I've decided to get the amp and pedal carry bag and the cover for the cab.... well.... might as well. I CAN'T FRIKKEN WAIT!
 5.
That's awesome and terrible news my friend I might have to look into selling my lil' rig and investing in a TC Classic head and 2 of those 12" cabs now... What set up have you ended up plumping for?... Eude
Glad and happy to help fella I'm putting my deposit (that's a monetary deposit!) down tomorrow for the RH450, RS210 and the pedal board I've decided, if/when I start playing larger venues or more open-air festivals I'll sling a 112 underneath or perhaps a 212 if I'm suddenly rich Oh yeah!!! I like the classic but I decided that for the extra money having those presets and having the lights is worth it - especially the lights...... Heheheheheh
 6.
Nice one dude. Let me know how you get on. I won't be able to move on anything anytime soon, so I guess you'll know sooner than me Cheers, Eude
Still trying to sort out finance but the good news is that they'll be stocking the RS112 shortly priced at £349.99.
 7.
My uni campus was in Eastbourne (not what I had hoped for up for when applying to Brighton uni!) and i had a few dealings with Bonners but obvisouly in store and not mail order. Like most music shops some of the staff are a bit suspect but on the whole they were decent people and the managers and such were helpful. Customer service was good and they were quick to sort out any troubles I ever had. I think you will be fine.
It's all sounding good to me. Thanks - I feel your pain with ending up in Eastbourne and not Brighton. Just a bit of a difference in vibe there J
 8.
Have Bonners got the 112 in stock? If so, how much they doing them for?... Eude
They haven't got it listed but as they're having to order TC stock in (will be there within a coupla weeks) you may be able to order that in. I've had an email discussion and replies have been quick, friendly and helpful thus far. When I have my deposit from selling my rack stuff I may be tempted into asking about the 112 as well......... http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/idleparis/ I'll let you know if you don't find out before me
 9.
Got my RH450 and foot controller, RS210 and RS212 from Bonners Eastbourne. No problems, good service and what's more the TC gear is fab! Go for it I say! Hope this helps
Cheers UB That's added to my 'I need this TC gear' thoughts and also given me some reassurance about dealing with Bonners. Was going to get the 210 and RH450 and if I need a little more bottom (ooooer!) might sling that cute 112 underneath which would also bring the height of the rig up a little more. But that's for another spend
 10. Hey all! I've been trying to track down a good deal on a TC Electronics rig - reckon I'm going RH450, RS210 and the floor controller. Now, having some Yorkshire heritage, I'm a bit scared of laying down over a grand in one go - Christmas is coming up and a girlfriend who has been made redundant from her job doesn't really help matters. I know sense says to wait but the amount of gigs I have lined up and having no transport makes it difficult to lug around my 'full-size' gear. Anyhoooooooo - back to my question. Has anyone bought from Bonners? Their prices seem decent and, more importantly, they offer a buy now pay in 6 months at 0%, also 24 and 36 months finance. Please let me know good or bad
 11.
I'm loving Peacock Blue strings - are they DR's? Welcome to the forum from another relatively newbie.
Thanks buddy - they are indeed DR's They just add that little bit of flash don't they? Not that I'm a poser or anything you understand..... Heheheheh. No. Really. I'm not. J
 12. Hey all. I'm having to sell my rig so that I can buy something more luggable as I no longer have a car. Check out my eBay thing here: http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/idleparis/ Also for sell is my inner-ear monitor system and soon joining all this is my Hartke cabs and SKB rack. Thanks J
 13. Hartke HA2000 amp SansAmp RBI dB Technologies inner-ear monitors. All these are on eBay for bargain amounts - http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/idleparis/ Soon to join them is my Hartke Transporter cabs - 4x10 and 1x15. All my gear is in good condition and only reason I'm selling is that I no longer have a car and need something more portable.
 14. Hello all! I was guided here by Sean over on the TC Electronic Bass 2.0 forum. I started my love affair with the low end back in the great Barnsley Bassist Drought of 1988. I'm basically an old goth rocker but love such a varied range of music it confuses most that look at my vinyl/cd/mp3 archives. Originally I wanted to be a guitarist (like so many other kids) but when a friends band was suddenly short of a plank-slapper for his covers band I rushed out and bought a red metal-flake finished Marlin for not very much. Soon I discovered that I was in fact a bassist and not a six-string twanger. Next up was a Hohner The Jack headless bass - it was still (just) the 80's!! Since then, I've left South Yorkshire after numerous original and cover bands and now live in London where I sometimes get a session or stand-in gig but generally spend time with my post punk indie rock band Subset (http://myspace.com/subsetlondon and/or http://SubsetBand.com) or my power pop group ByeByeKurt (http://byebyekurt.co.uk). Gear: Basses - Schecter Diamond Custom 5 (beech) with peacock blue strings, Yamaha Attitude Limited (blue) that I bought in '92 - gotta love Sheehan!, Mex Fender Jazz Fretless (blue), Italia Modulo that has a red crocodile skin kinda finish to the body - this is lovingly known as my pimp-bass Sound - Currently I'm running a Harke HA2000 using a SansAmp RBI as a preamp through Harke Transporter cabs - 4x10 and 1x15. Also in my SKB rack is a dB Technologies full inner-ear monitor rig - all of which is for sale: http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/idleparis/ Well - that's me. If you need to know more just ask.
