1. Well what I have currently is a Ashdown Electric Blue 180 1 X 12" combo. Its a great piece of kit and an awesome sound. It retails at £270 or something like that, which is a bit out of your price range. I've heard good things about the new range of render combo's as well.

However I will give a word of warning, if you do plan on practicing or jamming with people you might want to think of getting a amp and cab separate, although it can be a bit crazy and hard to understand at this point, you don't want to end up having to lob around a combo everywhere....like me.

2. For sale is my beautiful MusicMan Stingray with 3-Band EQ, natural body, maple neck and one sweet sound!!! Its in As new condition there are no marks at all!! Sounds wonderful and comes with an MM hardcase. £650

Any Qs. send them my way.

Pics, if you want more and better quality let us know!

3. they are great basses however it ranges from basses to basses DRAMATICALLY. Some are excellent, some are the worst piece of sh*te I've seen. Make sure for definite that you try it out. There have also been stories of the circuitry frying out pretty soon.

4. As far as I know the bolt-ons are pretty good, better than that even. I tried a Corvette Hot Rod with a bolt on neck and that was SEX. I seriously cannot see how the FNA can be bad unless he doesn't like the 'thicker' necks. But as most people will say, its better if he tries one out for himself, but I know sometimes thats easier said than done :)

5.
Elwood: What kind of music do you usually have here?
Claire: Oh, we got both kinds. We got country *and* western.

Mrs. Tarantino: Are you the police?
Elwood: No, ma'am. We're musicians.

Jake: Uh, Bob, about the money for tonight.
Bob: Oh, yeah, $200, and you boys drank $300 worth of beer.

Willie 'Too Big' Hall: I say we give the blues brothers one more chance
Donald 'Duck' Dunn: Why not? If the s**t fits, wear it.

Jake: The Cadillac we used to have. The Bluesmobile!
Elwood: I traded it.
Jake: You traded the Bluesmobile for this?
Elwood: No, for a microphone.
Jake: A microphone?
[pause]
Jake: Okay I can see that. What the hell is this?

Elwood Blues: Duck, give me a mountain tempo in A minor.

Elwood Blues: Is there anything in particular you would like to hear this evening your highness?
Queen Mousette: Yes. Do something Caribbean.
Elwood Blues: Uh, ma'am, we're the Blues Brothers. We do blues, rhythm & blues, jazz, funk, soul. We can handle rock, pop, country, heavy metal, fusion, hip hop, rap, Motown, operetta, show tunes. In fact, we've even been called upon, on occasion, to do a polka! However Caribbean is a type of music, I regret to say, which has not been, is simply not, nor will ever be a part of this band's repertoire.
I can't remember that part of the film!!!! Is it on a sequel or something?!?

6. Here we have my Musicman Stingray, 3 Band EQ in natural with a maple neck for sale or possibly trade. Now this bass is in superb condition with no marks at all, its pretty much as clean as it was out of the factory! Its a great bass but not for me I'm afraid. So if anyone is interested or has any questions PM and I'll be happy to answer.

Bad pics with bad camera I'm afraid!

7. thats for the opinions guys!!! The lack of low end might be a bit of a worry....I'll definetly have to give it a go, its between this or a Jazz or a Warwick with a little more saving so we'll see!

8.
Speakin of which, we haven't seen Grant around here for ages!! (the six string pedulla player) Anyone know where he got to?

In reply to the OP, I guess theres no real reason why not.. to me it seems like fun.

James brown had Clyde Stubblefield & John Jabbo Starks playin 2 drum kits.
Orchestras usually have a few double bass players.
Some bands have 3 guitarists.

I think if the playing is tight and worked out methodically then it could sound really good.
He's a bit busy at the moment from what I gather, with Toupe, Comedy, writing books and screenplays and god knows what else! Havn't seem them for a while either, should go and give support!!!
