I didn't mention the bridge issue, or that I was looking to sell it but the info was interesting nonetheless.

  2. This is the older model beige percolator, back when Fredric Effects offered 3 different versions. There's a decent comparison video below. This version used NOS Russian MP16B Ge & standard 2N3904 Si transistors, Russian KD514A silicon diodes apparently... No idea what difference that makes to the sound. All I know is that it was my main guitar distortion pedal for a long time until I got a Rat, modded it and never looked back. Reasonably aggressive but fairly transparent sound, and with a switch for 2 clipping options. Although it was on my board for a while, everything was nicely secured and this has come out of it with only 2 minor scuffs/scrapes to the top and bottom of the pedal so is still in good condition.

    £45 posted, UK sale preferred.

  3. Bought from Goblin on here a couple of years ago, this is a very nice playing semi hollow Gordon Smith Gypsy. The only main problem it has is that one of the posts securing the bridge to the body has been installed slightly wonkily and the bridge cannot therefore be height adjusted using the posts, although I don't know if that was ever the intention with this type of bridge. The intonation can still be set using the saddles without any issues.

Both humbuckers have a coil tap and it's one of the easiest playing guitars I've owned. Sadly, I've discovered after around 16 years of playing that I'm a Fender man through and through and I'm not using it.

It's been played and has a few dings. But is otherwise in good condition. Currently strung with heavy strings and tuned to C# standard but I can throw a set of Ernie Ball 10's in there on request.

I'll courier the guitar and am looking at a UK sale only. I can't think of anything I'd consider in terms of trades due to the collection slim down and the fact I generally need to own less stuff but you can always ask!

Any questions, feel free to PM me. More pics on request. Based in Sheffield if you want to collect or try it out and have a brew. I'm off work the week commencing the 15th so if someone buys by then, it's very flexible for me in terms of organising a courier. Shouldn't be a deal maker for anyone but I thought it was worth mentioning as Christmas is rapidly approaching.

  4. I part ex'd some gear at a local music shop and after trying out all 4 models they had in stock, ended up with this sunburst Bass IV as it seemed like the best of the bunch in terms of finish and setup. However, it was a bit of an impulse buy as I now realise I have no need for it and am trying to slim down my guitar/bass collection. I also got asked to join a friends band and had to get a decent fretted 4 stringer, so the Squire up for sale here for £200, about 2/3 of the new RRP. There's no case and the strap isn't included.

It's never left my smoke free house since purchase and still has the protective plastic on the pickguard and pickups. It all plays and sounds great from the limited time it's been amplified. I'll courier the bass and am looking at a UK sale only. I can't think of anything I'd consider in terms of trades due to the collection slim down and the fact I generally need to own less stuff but you can always ask!

And yes, you can totally nail the 'Wichita Lineman' solo on it.

Edit - Unless it comes back for any reason, sold!

  6. I took delivery of an Indonesian made Sub this week and am very impressed by how well put together it is. The action was too high for me but the neck relief was fine so a quick adjustment of the bridge saddles and it played a lot better. Love the neck shape, especially around the lower frets where it seems narrower and deeper than further up the fretboard. Only tried it running DI'd through Reaper with a little compression and light EQ but it sounded very usable. Bargain for £190 delivered, although I may have to order a thumb rest as I'm missing one something bad.

If I could have sold a couple of bits at short notice I'd probably have gone for the Ray 34 that was in the classifieds but this will do me nicely for now. But now I want to play a 'proper' Stingray to see what I'm missing out on :(
