  1. I guess I'll order a pizza from there!
  2. Mmmm, I guess then I'll check it out with a different tech, though it's not just that, I'm looking for something a bit more "aggressive" and punchier... This weekend I may sell it, so next week I'll take the cab to the store. They have in stock the RH450, the PF500, the LMIII (cause I read the tube one is not worth it), the JJ500, the LH500, so I guess it'll be down to one of those. Well, I got offered an SVT6PRO, that also looks nice, I might try that one out also...
  3. Well, the tech said it was something of this particular preamp design, that most old fender bassmans had the same issue, no more volume from 3, so I believed him...
  4. Wow! Nice amp! But I guess shipping to Spain would be quite expensive, and also I'm not comfortable about shipping valve amps, last time I bought one over the mail came with the valves destroyed. Like your band by the way!
  5. Well, I have the VT Bass already, just haven't used it too much as it doesn't add anything special to my already overdriven valve amp. So maybe I don't need an amp with valve emulation, though I've heard really good critics about the RH450 tubetone, and it'd be nice not to depend on a pedal.
  6. That'd be great! Though I'll need a new amp as soon as I sell mine (maybe this weekend), so I guess I'll take my Vintage to my nearest bass store and try out what they have there with my cab and my bass.
  7. Well, I live in Spain so Sound City amps are non-existent around here, and used Oranges are rare and cost over 1000 euros, and shipping one from UK would be really expensive, so that's why I'm looking into other amps. Ah, mine is 100W, and with the level at 3 it already overdrives. I'm also considering the Ashdown JJ500, looks good and I've read it's a good combination for a P (which I play with)
  8. Hi guys, I have a Barefaced Vintage that I got during the Barefaced hype around here. I bought it because I had an old handmade copy of a 60s Fender Bassman, and it sounded like the perfect cab for this amp. The cab is amazing, I've been using it in a metal band with 3 guitarists and it has enough volume, but the amp breaks up way too early, so now I'm looking for a new amp with more headroom. I play rock and metal and like the valve tone of the SVTs, Hiwatts and that stuff. I'd really wish I had the money for a SVT, but it's twice my budget, so I'm thinking about a TC RH450, a Markbass LMIII, a GB Streamliner 600 (900 seems too much), or an Ampeg PF-500. So what do you think? Any Vintage owners out there is using any of these amps?
  9. Yesterday I tried the VT Bass with the BF Vintage using the power amp of a SVT4 (bypassing the preamp), and it sounded amazing! I think I'm going to look for a nice power amp, and maybe trade my VT for a VT Deluxe. What do you think about the Crown XLS 1000? I've seen it's cheap and light, looks like a good deal... Anyone tried it with the VT or the BF Vintage?
  10. And what about power amps with the VT Bass? Which one would be ok? I know nothing about power amps...
  11. Thanks! Anyway, I was looking for BF Vintage users to comment about their amps...
  12. I had the Orange Terror Bass and I didn't like it. Which power amp might work well with the VT? My budget is what I'll get from selling my amp, I guess around 600-700 pounds. How good are the Sound Citys? Are they something like the hiwatts? Anyway, remember I'm from Spain, so shipping a valve amp from UK might be too expensive...
  13. Hi mates! I bought a Barefaced Vintage due to the "hype" here a year ago to use it with a spanish hand-made 100W tube amp I have, as I was getting less volume than I wished with my cab back then. Now I'm not really liking the sound of the amp. I've tried it with a guitar and sounds way better, so I'm selling it as a guitar amp (is kind of a blackface copy) and looking for a new amp. I love tube amps, but I don't have the cash for a SVT or an Orange. I play rock/metal, a vintage precision, both pick and fingerstyle. I've been looking into the TC Classic 450, the LMIII with the VTBass (which I have), the Ashdown Klystron 500... I'm looking for a classic rock precision bass sound: warm, punchy, growly... So what amp do you think would be a good combination with the Barefaced Vintage to get there?
  14. That's cool, but I guess it's better the other way, isn't it?
  15. Oh, then it must be easy to do. Thanks!
  16. Nah, it's a barefaced vintage, it's only speakon... maybe I can try to replace the jack with a speakon. It needs soldering, right?
  17. Oh God! I bough a speakon-jack cable from OBBM and now is not going to work with the Terror Bass? Delberthot, do yo have a speakon-speakon to change? ^_^
  18. Wow! The T'Midget has the twitter in front of the 12 cone, right? Doesn't that bar affect the way the big cone sounds? Never seen a cab like that...
  19. Ordered mine! ^_^ Can't wait to play through it! What about those videos MythSte?
  20. Nice! Mmm... I think Alex's getting a PM quite soon!
  21. Hi! I'm seriously considering ordering one too... I'm sure I'm buying a Barefaced cab, I still have to decide which one! Anyway, I can't have more gas! Oh, and pmaraziti, I'm from Madrid too, so let's see who buys it first and lets the other try it! I just have a question: I've read there are three different tunings for this cab, so how does it work? Is it like a switch? Or do I have to order the tuning that I want in advance, when Alex builds it? Thanks mates!
