I'm in the same situation, 54 yrs on fender bass, 3 on upright. SO, I went looking for one of these but I think they're out of production. I also looked at safran bass etc....I ended up with an Ibanez srh500F, which while not exactly an upright tone, it sure sounds good in a jazz band when you can't or don't haul your upright. They are also extremely well made, albeit w/ that skinny depth Ibanez neck, very nice looking, light, fully adjustable bridge w/ piezo, and only $7-800 brand new...it's a steal frankly. I did a showcase yesterday and there were 2 other fretless acoustic players there on a godin A4 ($2G) and a citroen 4 steve swallow (10G) and many commented on how much better the Ibanez sounded.
