  1. What I'm looking to do is run my preamp and main amp together but only using the power amp of the main amp.

What I want to be able to do is a/b between the two preamps but also have the ability to blend them when needed. So an aby pedal with a blend knob on the y section. I've got a boss ls-2 currently but in practice this will only alow me to a/b or blend but not both. Below is a signle chain using the boss which if this idea would work would be similar to a pedal I would have built.

Here is a signal path I was thinking of if I was using the boss ls-2 but it's only a mix of the two.
(Bass > LS-2 Input, LS-2 Send A > Gallien Krueger  input, Gallien Krueger FX send > LS-2 Return A, LS-2 Send B > input of Pearce preamp > pearce preamp FX send > LS-2 Return B, LS-2 Output > Gallien Krueger  FX return.) Set the LS-2 to A-B Mix and use the knobs on it to blend the sounds and correct any level mismatch.

What I want to know is would this work? Would I be able to choose my pre a/b and when I want blend the two together?

    Cheers guys

  2. Hi all not going to go on to much you all know these cabs, how good they are and how loud they are.

I'm currently not gigging so need to move this cab on. It comes with a cover and has the fabric finish not the rhino finish.

Collection from Reading prefferd but don't hesitate to talk to me about postage.

This is the LIGHT version not the heavier regular.

  3. Hi all

Ok here we go, I've always had issues at gigs where soundguys don't whish to mic the cab and only use a di, this is fine and a good di can sound great but now I use more effects and especially overdives mostly coming from my Pearce bc1 and DHA vt2-twin eq. But these don't sound good via di.

So I recently started looking at running two di's as I feel sound guys will be more open to doing this so one clean di and one effected in-between the head and cab like guitarists do. So I've been looking at loads of di's and amp emulators, palmer stuff has been looking very interesting but most of them have attenuators on them with none selectable ohm ratings and can only handle up around 120watts which is far from enough. Does any one use the palmer stuff like the pdi 03, pdi 09 PGA 05 ect and if so could you let me know if I can bypass the power soak but still have the speaker emulator and di.

Then there is the beringer g 100 di which can (supposedly) handle up to 3000watts more then enough, I know the sound quality will not be up to that of the palmer stuff but could be worth a look any one used this dimand can give me some feedback.

Any adive or info would be a great help, as this way of producing my sound live will solve alot of problems and my drives can used to full effect.

    Cheers

    Vic

  4. I've not used the bbe stuff, but I've had a good play on the new aphex comp and aural xciter and thought they were great especially the xciter which was very natural sounding and really added somyhimg nice to my tone.

However the bbe sonic maximiser works differently to the xciter off the top of my head I can't remember , the xciter adds harmonics. What was said in reviews is that the bbe can sound a bit more processed and digital. IMO I would hold out and get the aural xciter over the bbe.

I hope that is a little help.

  5. Check out YouTube and search 2 minute bass lessons tapping patterns. There are a good few lessons there which are very good at getting going at two handed tapping, there are also tabs for the lessons on the mtd kingston web site, he mentions this on the vids.

    Enjoy
