1. Cant praise this fella highly enough, A Curbow 5 string arrived this afternoon, incredibly well wrapped and in beeeeutifull condition. The bass was sent even before the money appeared in his account, bank transfer hassles slowed it down, but he sent the bass anyway, pleasure to deal with and a top top bloke. cheers lemmywinks! jamie
 2. Worked with a sax player once called Thunderbolt Jackson, claimed it was his real name, although I never saw any proof of that.
 3. Who's gigging tonight and where? I'm playing at The Ferry in Glasgow, 6 pm soundcheck just off now,

 6. I'm sure this must have been done before but i'm new so forgive me, how many on here play in tribute bands and how do you feel about it, what are the criteria for tribute acts, should you only do it for acts who are no longer with us , ie dead or retired. just interested in opinions , is it the last refuge for old musos?
 7.
Price as stated £30+p&p no offers, sorry. Trying to raise funds for another instrument while unemployed, so will wait till I get what I want for them or keep them and try another time.
No worries, same boat pretty much, good luck with it, its a great price.

But don't be alarmed it isn't all expensive reviews there are some "real world" products in there too. Looks like they are staring to get the gear mix right.
Have'nt seen this months yet, usually dont get it until about the 26th, but glad to hear there are some real world reviews, it's about time really.
 9.
I'm a fond supporter of the "if you can't offer at least 75%, don't embarrass yourself and hang on to your cash" rule .
should have added an extra 2.50 then and i would'nt be currently squirming with embarrasment,
 10.
Again...
not really, just a bit poor, lol my multi effects is in for repair and probably dead, so just wanted something cheap to use in a hurry, cant blame a guy for trying
 11. As i am in the process of opening a bass shop in Glasgow this thread has been fascinating. It's been like having a personal how not to do it class, all the complaints and comments on here should be banged into the heads of potential music shop emplyees and certainly i will make it required reading for any body i employ in the future ( and for myself). A wee question, as most of the makers/distributors i have contacted want very large minimum stock before you can be a dealer and as i am doing this on a tight budget, most of my initial stock will be second hand, would you still visit this kind of shop? I posted a thread "calling all scottish bassplayers" and got some great replies, but have a look wherever you live and give me some advice, i want the kind of shop that bass players want to use and you all can help, ta

 14.
Super awesome bump!
How about 140 plus postage? if so i'll have it.

 16. Hi all I am opening a bass shop in Glasgow, yup, no guitars no drums no keys, just bass stuff, everything from beginer to pro level and i would appreciate a bit of help with a few questions to help with the marketing, you can reply here or to [email protected] i guarantee you will not be contacted via your reply unless you specifically ask to be, i would be grateful for your input and suggestions 1) Do you welcome a bass specific shop in Scotland 2) What would you like to see in stock 3) Are you more likely to visit the shop or use our online service 4) Roughly how much do you spend on bass goods in a year 5) Is this likely to increase if you had a bass shop you could visit? The shop will be for bass players and by bassplayers so please take a minute and help us to provide the best possible service and to stock the things you want to see. cheers jamie
