1. Hi all, For sale a couple of string sets left over from my recent period of exploration... La Bella 760N (black nylon tapewounds) 4 string set (with an optional high C string if you'd like), cut for a 2-each-side headstock (Warwick Corvette). Very good condition with silks still neat, only used for one gig. £30 delivered Pyramid Gold flatwounds (with the 105 gauge E string) 4 string set, cut for a 2-each-side headstock (Warwick Corvette fretless). Played in for around a month, a few gigs in that time. Extremely good condition, and I have to say a pretty awesome sound - very warm and thumpy, not hollow like some flats, so I've found them perfect for a fretless bass for both big band and motown/funk music. £30 delivered Both the sets are suitable for 34 inch scale length. Reasons for sale: I don't really dig the sound of the La Bellas - quite roundwound-sounding to my ears, which some may like. The pyramids are noticeably higher in tension than TI jazz flats, which I've become used to, so feel like quite a lot more effort to play. In the small group jazz music I generally play in, I haven't found the thumpy low-end to be that useful, so have gone back to TI's on the fretless. Cheers. Any questions feel free to ask. Feedback: dunetune_jazz (we traded basses a while back). John
2. PS I'll try and get some soundclips/a movie of the head of Giant Steps played in octaves on the high strings, very jazz-guitar sounding!
3. ET, you just saved me a lot of money. For some reason couldn't find those by searching on the site, but 4 pounds for that string was really worth it. Got my Warwick 'vette fiver strung E-C now, and absolutely loving it. That C is pretty thin but still quite high tension - plucking near the bridge you can totally pull off the (guitar!) intro of play that funky music, and with the neck pickup you get almost harp-like chording. Cheers John
4. All, I'm looking for either a low-B or high-C TI jazz flat single string. You can get these from juststrings.com, but I can't seem to find anywhere in the UK that does them. If anybody has one second hand that'd be dandy too.. Failing that, how are chromes on a warwick corvette? cheers john
5. Just a bit more info. Serial number is F076124-00 , i.e. June 2000.
6. Exactly as Simon said - these bear some relationship to the Rockbass series, but were produced in Germany.
7. All, Up for sale is my Warwick Streamer standard. Now a discontinued model, this was the cheapest German made Warwick - a 'real' one as opposed to RockBass, but with some different features to the Corvettes etc. Natural Carolena body Ovangol neck, Wenge board One MEC Soapbar pickup with push-pull coil tap Warwick tuners One-piece Warwick bridge Bell brass frets So, most of the important stuff is there, high quality woods, tuners and frets. You'll find good reviews on Harmony Central: http://reviews.harmony-central.com/reviews...r+Standard/10/1 A unique 'feature' of this particular bass is two small screw holes in the body (pictured) where the previous owner, in a completely bizarre location, tried installing a thumb rest and then thought better of it. For this reason, and because I'm looking for a quick sale, the bass is priced to compete with squiers, despite the fact that it's a good quality European-made instrument. Ritter gig-bag included. I'm looking for £200, but make me offers! Reference available from dunetune_jazz . Thanks John
8. All, **SOLD** Thanks for the contributions! I only own one belt, and never wear it - the scratching was from a previous owner, and I agree its annoying. I was very precious about the fingernail dents that come from slapping, on another of my warwicks, but as most have said, once you start looking at it as an (utterly awesome) piece of wood for making great sounds, those concerns disappear. In the end this was traded with dunetune_jazz for a 5 string corvette STD and a bit of cash. Incidentally, he's a top bloke. Cheers

10. A cheeky beginner's bump and some more info: I'm based in London at the moment so am reasonably mobile in the surrounding area. I would much prefer to do business in person. Also, please feel free to reply/PM with any offers/trades, no matter how strange john
All, For sale is my 4 string Corvette $$ in Nirvana Black. Stunning condition all round, bar buckle scratching on the back (pictured), and particularly excellent frets (I use TI flats on it, very soft). Looking for around £650 but will happily listen to any and all offers. Sale is mainly to raise funds, given that I'm generally a fretless player now, but I'd be very interested in a lower-end Warwick (Corv STD?) + cash. There it is guys, throw some ideas around Cheers, John
