1. I've decided I'm going to stick Daka-Ware bakelite knobs (like the ones on the Wren & Cuff TFR) on my ARC BGP. The current knobs are too tall, and I keep kicking them and/or changing my settings!

Does anyone know a good supplier of these? I can only seem to find "vintage" ones on eBay, and they're all about £10 for one...

bakerster135 - just reading your thread, seems like you're having an issue that isn't a million miles away. Any sign of a resolution at your end?

Hey Scotticus! Well, I think my issue was just down to not having had enough time to play around with the B3K at practice room/gig volume. I've since found my way around it a bit!

I definitely think it can only really be used for "grit" though. I'm currently using my ARC BGP or a knackered old Turbo Rat in conjunction, to push it over the edge if needs be.

3. Ok, never had the same issue with my Bass Drive Mosfet or Xotic BB which is why I was asking, and they don't have a blend. They kept low end just fine with what I assume was a purely effected sound.

So going by that, and considering the B3K is a bass-centric overdrive, I was under the impression that even the "pure" effect sound would still be designed to have a lot of bottom end.

Is that not the case then?

Hi all,

Just had a question regarding the US B3K, and wondered if you could help. I know they're pretty popular around here!...

I bought this ages ago, but so far have only had chance to use it at two gigs so far.

My favourite sound that I've found is:

Blend - Full
Level - 3 o'clock
Drive - Noon
Attack switch - On
Grunt switch - Fat

When using it at home on my tiny home practice amp it's sounding great like this, but through my Mesa/Ampeg cab gig rig I seem to get a bass drop, or at least a feeling that I lose volume. Also tried changing level to full, but it's only just about right on this setting (surely it should have some headroom!?!...).

A couple of questions for you guys who use them:

- Have you experienced anything like this?
- Is the pedal designed so that the blend shouldn't be on full, and is it likely that I'm experience the bass/volume drop because the blend is full up?
- Does this sound like it could be a potential fault?

As mentioned the tone's great, so I really can't think that there's anything drastically wrong with it! I've heard so much about the massive low end on this thing though that I can't help but be a little underwhelmed by how it's performing!...

Please let me know if you can help.

The patch leads have changed since the last photo you posted Al ;)
I bet you can have a lot of fun with that board!

Yes they have Tom, and like you and Kev promised, the tonal change has certainly been palpable!...

It is a lot of fun! I think once there's the addition of another dirtbox (made by a certain excellent UK pedalsmith! ;)) it will be complete...

Been a while since I posted a few pics.

The HUGE board has been stripped and is currently acting as a coffee table in the studio. I have a new live electronica project on the go (live bass & electronics as a 2-piece) and this is my much reduced set up that I'm using for it...

Bass ->
TC Polytune Mini ->
* (GigRig QuarterMaster 4 Input) *
COG Effects Custom Meat Grinder Fuzz ->
Subdecay Prometheus ->
Eventide PitchFactor (with EB VP Jr) ->
Moogerfooger Low Pass Filter (with MP-201) ->
* (GigRig QuarterMaster 4 Output) *
TC Nova Delay iB Mod - >
Amp

All housed in a Diago Showman (other than the delay) and powered by a GigRig Modeular Power Supply. There is a MIDI Splitter in the top corner too which delivers a MIDI Clock from the electronics to sync the LFO's of my MP-201 and crazy effects in the Eventide.

Sounds HUGE!!!
