Hey Zoe Great playing, I played this track in a covers band gig 3 weeks ago for charity and it's a toughie to play. We're now making an album of the gig to get more funds for the charity and we've recorded a version of hit me, when it's finished I'll stick a link up so you can hear my effort! I had the pleasure of seeing the Blockheads play a couple of weeks ago in Southwark park (South London) and they played it, sounded as great as it did the first time round! Well done for learning a real tricky bass line.. Great groove though eh? Geoff

Havona by Weather Report... That Jaco bass line has me in all sorts of trouble.. I've tried and tried but never get it to sound right. One of these days.....Grrrrrr

Try a 'Signature' from Goerdt Lamberts at Buildabass. He could match that Jazz up perfect at a fraction of the cost. I just bought one 2 weeks back and it's now my number one bass. Fender Jazz deluxe firmly locked away in case. Great sound and superb action. The Signature is a dream to play and also looks stunning. It's also 20 years old but looks brand new as the parts he has are all in storage from when Signature closed down in 1992. All the best in whatever you decide. Geoff Here's the Jazz he made me. Just found the forum and thought I'd pop on and say hi. Been a bass player for 25 years, played in various bands and now just write and record stuff with my guitarist/Songwriting pal.
