1. Mudda bought a bass from me at the weekend. Really easy to deal with, good comms, and paid quickly by Paypal. Simple, smooth transaction, and I would say a fair and honest bloke. H.
2. Bass now sold to a fellow BassChatter. Pics removed to save BC server space - and donation on its way soon.
3. Last chance bump folks. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-V1004-Ac...=item2312f17d34 A.
4. Last chance price of £150, fellow BCers - which is daft cheap, quite frankly. Would consider a swap for a fretless. If she doesn't sell at this price, I'll just have to cut my losses, cut out the middle man, and mebbe have her de-fretted. As others have mentioned, I can't believe a bass like this is still here. So . . . For just £150. Save this bass. (from the pliers and sand-paper) Adrian
5. Cheers mate. Yep, they are great basses. And I'm practically giving this one away in near-new condition! Still no definite hand-shakes on it though, so folks can still feel free to contact me about it. Cheers all, Adrian
6. Still for sale. Recently set-up with a lovely low action - and new 9v battery fitted. Will consider offers. Also would consider possible trade for a four-string fretless. Cheers, A.
7. Still taking offers on this bass, ladies and gents. It looks nice. It sounds nice. And by golly it plays nice. Set up with a lovely low action with no fret buzz. And obviously the Wilkinson active electronics play mellow to poppy to growly. Does no-one fancy some lurvely neck-thru action? Text or PM me if you are interested Adrian 07787 116 808
8. This bass is still for sale. Very popular among Ebay Members who, in their droves, seemingly love to click "Watch This Item" and then not bid. Obviously neck-thru pervs who just like to look at the pretty pictures for a week . It is a nice bass, mind. A.
9. Weekend bump. C'mon folks. It's the weekend. Treat yourself! Adrian
10. Hey Jack, I've sent you a PM reply. Cheers, Adrian
11. Thanks gents. Yup - it's a lovely bit of kit. I was on a bit of a neck-thru / thru-neck spending streak at the time that I bought it (my bank account had a major GAS-leak), but now my car tax is due - and so it is with some reluctance that, as an under-used bass sitting pretty on the rack, she has to go. If I can drum up the cash elsewhere she'll stay, as it's a shame to be letting her go (and to be taking such a hit on the price!). But until then, there's such a bargain here waiting for someone. Cheers, Adrian
12. Hey all, Final reduction bump. Quite surprised this pretty thing is still here tbh. Now at roughly one third of its original RRP, and a full £100 cheaper than I can find online. Soooo much bass for the money. I really can't let her go for any less. H.
13. Price reduction bump! £180 now, for this lovely, drool-some, and well-reviewed, active bass. A total bargain. Any questions, PM me or give me a shout. Cheers, Adrian (07787 116 808)
14. I'm still considering offers on this bass. So much bass for the money. Wilkinson pick-ups and active EQ. Plenty of power and tones at your disposal. Gave her a little slap and tinkle tonight when I was doing a routine clean/polish of my basses (is that sad?). Still sounds as good as new. And that really quite gorgeous thru-neck. Mmmm. (Insert Homer Simpson drool smiley here). Give uz a shout if you want her. H.
15. Think I'm gunna have to list this on Ebay soon - which would be a shame - but then I need the cash quite sharpish. Unless someone wants to make an offer. H. PS - Noticed a slight crackle from the pick-up select/blend knob last night when I was cleaning/testing my basses. No worries though, just took a squirt of Servisol and back to normal.
16. Thanks Muttley. Yeah, it's not just a pretty face this bass. It got very well reviewed at the time too - from magazines and users such as ourselves. It's still for sale folks, so get in touch if you are tempted for some neck-thru loveliness at a low price. btw: I can also arrange to email any specific pics of the bass that anyone requires. Cheers, H.
17. A quick search reveals that BassChat stalwart 'Machines' reviewed the DX version (different wood finish) back in the day - and was suitably impressed. http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=9244&hl=v1004 It is a lovely bass, this. Almost as new condition, and for less than half RRP. H.
18. Hi all, Need to whittle down my bass collection a little, to just the ones that I actually use often. I bought this V1004 new a little while ago, when I had a bit of a GAS spree, buying loads of basses. I was totally knocked out by the looks of the thing, and am pleased to report that it sounds just as nice. The RRP was £500, and I think the cheapest you can find them nowadays is about £275? To be honest I have not used it much since I bought it, as I tend to stick to my Ibanez as a four-string when I'm not using my OLP five - so this beautiful Vintage has mostly just been sitting on my guitar rack looking pretty since I bought it. It has never been gigged. As such it is still in amazing condition. I have looked right around the bass and the only mark I can see when I turn it into the light is a very light and small scuff in the lacquer on the back of the body. The rest of the guitar is perfect. The only other thing I should mention is that the gold hardware has faded in colour a little - as gold hardware often does. Meaning that it is more like a silvery gold. Still lovely and shiny, and otherwise completely new looking, but not as in-your-face solid gold coloured as it once was. Info on this guitar here - http://www.gak.co.uk/en/vintage-v1004-bass/7261 Anyway - here are some pics. If anyone wants any more info or pics, please get in touch by PM or by phone (07787 116 808). Cheers, Adrian
19. And the interviewer didn't think to then pose the obvious supplemental question . . . . "Erm, why?"
20.
MB1. ...."You will never see another bass like this anywhere!" ...Is That a Promise?
Well quite. In a funny old way, I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking I'd rather put 1500 notes towards a handbuilt bass that I HAVE seen somewhere before. Yer know - like one of those really common WALs for example.
21. Well - judging by this afters, the lad has some good skills. Someone donate that chap a bass.
22. Aha. The very man. Although those videos clearly don't do the lad justice. Had a really smooth jazz type thing goin on this afternoon - and it took me a while to figure out where the playing was coming from. Can't make out what bass he uses either.
23. Anyone know who the dude was who was laying down some solo jazz noodlings in the open air at the monument in Newcastle city centre today? Was he originally there with a band and then hung back to show off a bit? Or did he just have the balls to simply turn up in a busy city centre with his bass (and loads of pedals) on a Saturday afternoon and set away on a improv session? Perhaps we'll never know. But anyway - good work that man. Was pleasant outdoor coffee-drinking accompaniment.
24. Cool. Just need to bang a 'Cetera' sticker together on Photoshop, slap it on yer black NS2, and email a pic to Stuart with a link to this thread and the simple message of - "Dear Stu. Thoughts?". I'm sure that'll be job done.
